Young breed Rashid Khan is not only the superstar of Afghanistan team that is known for his skills in the world cricket , it's now the time of another Afghanistan wicketkeeper batsmen who is taking the world on storm by his batting skills . With the likes of Rashid Khan and Mohammed Nabi already in the team , this wicketkeeper batsman Shafiqullah Shafaq scored a whirlwind 214 off a mere 71 balls in a domestic Twenty20 match to capture the imagination of cricket fans around the world. Shafaq achieved this record  while playing in a local tournament - Paragon Nangarhar Champion Trophy.

The Afghanistan cricketer hit 21 sixes and 16 boundaries in his blistering innings which gave his team a massive total of 351 runs in just 20 overs . He was supported by his teammate Waheedullah Shafaq, who hit 81 runs off just 31 balls. Chasing an impossible total, Kabul Star Cricket Club could only get 107 runs on the board , Khateez Cricket Academy registered a resounding win by 244 runs which is highest margin victory in T20 cricket till now.

Shafaq, who made his T20I debut in 2010 against Ireland, has played 35 T20Is for Afghanistan, scoring 392 runs at a strike rate of 143.07. He has also played 20 ODIs and scored 383 runs.

That is astounding!! Wow!! Incredible. Hats off Shafiduallah. He has even crossed Gayle who was just about to reach his double ton in the IPL while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore and scoring a 175.

With this jaw-ping double ton scored Shafiqullah Shafaq of Afghanistan, world cricket has to give him a bow. This is testimony to the fact that Afghan cricket is slowly trying to register its name in the list of top teams in the world. Earlier in 2017, leggie Rashid Khan impressed us by his brilliant bowling performances in the IPL to become the cynosure of all eyes. I would appreciate it if these lesser-known teams play well and set eyeballs rolling towards them. Cricket must progress!

Yes Akshita. You are absolutely correct. Breaking Chris Gayle''s record is like trying to move a vast mountain. It is nearly impossible and also, it takes up truckloads of effort, hard work and tenacity to do so.
