Be Who You Are

Every human being is born to be who he or she is. We come to earth with a plan, a purpose, to fulfil something, to give and take from others, and to learn and to evolve. Like we have our own uniqueness in terms of our looks, our voice, our mannerisms, body language and fingerprints, we also have our own uniqueness as to who we are. We all have a core vibration that defines our true self. And this core vibration is different for different people, and hence no two people are exactly similar or a 100 percent match. Even with twins, there are differences, especially seen as they grow up.

As we grow up, parents, teachers and society in general influence us, and condition us with various facets of life. The net result of all this, in addition to learning skills and techniques needed to survive and thrive in this world, is also to unconsciously change our core vibrations and our personality. A child is pure, because he or she has not been influenced or changed by society as yet. But with time, the child moves away from who he or she is, and starts to behave in a fashion that is most suitable to his survival and well being, in this world, as taught by society.

If someone gets angry quickly, or breaks rules, or is a rebel, the parents and society, with the help of the reward and punishment system, and by talking, shouting, criticising and berating the child, makes them realise that if they continue with their natural behaviour, they will not be liked or appreciated and will, in fact, be punished, rejected, abandoned or humiliated.

The child quickly learns to hide her natural personality, and wears a new personality or mask given by society. The child, by the time she is five or ten, has already given up her core vibrations, and has changed to suit the environment. This further continues into adulthood, and by the time we are adults, so much material has been overwritten over our natural state that we don't know who we are.

When we don't know who we truly are, when we are living as per rules and regulations and conditionings given to us by society, living by our fears, worries and anxities, we are never happy. Our core vibrations are different from our actual vibrations we display, and this mismatch ensures that we are always unhappy, negative, scared, angry, frustrated and confused. Only when these two vibrations come into alignment will happiness flow. We try and solve these issues by trying to manipulate the circumstances in the outer world, thinking that if people or events were to change, we would be happy. But even as one person or event changes, something else comes along, to make us unhappy.

If and when we realise (and many of us spend our entire lives never realising) that a majority of problems in our life are occurring because we are not being who we truly are or supposed to be, that is the 'aha' moment, which can trigger change in us. Once we identify who we are, we can go back to our core vibrations. And how do we know who we are or what is our core vibration? By the emotion of excitement and happiness. Whatever makes us excited, invigorated, motivated and happy is showing us who we truly are and what are our core vibrations. We have to trust our excitement, our joy, and follow that, trusting it 100 percent. If we get worried, scared, anxious, and slip back into old patterns, then there is no joy and life becomes a drain. If we realise what truly excites us in the moment, and if we were to act upon that excitement, life would flow smoothly and existence and our vibrations will bring us more and more things to be excited about.

Remember that life or existence is always supporting us, whenever we are on the right path, and putiing obstacles when we are on the wrong path. The Universe is a highly supportive and benevolent Universe.

Usually, we don't trust our intuitions and keep going back to safety and security and being "proper". This again might seem like a good idea, but it takes us away from who we are, and brings negativity and unhappiness into our lives. Unhappiness or negativity that we experience is directly dependent upon the degree to which we have gone away from our true selves. It is a constant reminder from our higher self, to come back home, to come back and align ourselves with who we truly are.

If we were to become silent and listen, if we were to spend a few minutes every day getting in touch with ourselves honestly, we would know what truly makes us happy or excites us, and we can safely take this as invitations from our higher self, to come back home and act on them. If we continue to disregard these messages, our higher self will engineer more and more people and situations into our lives, to give us more anger or fear or disappointments, so that we sit back, take stock, see who we truly are, make a U turn, and start that long but pleasant journey towards our true selves, towards our home.
