Swachhta Pakhwada celebrated at KPS

Kriti Public School administered the Swachhta Pledge recently, to inaugurate the Swachhta Pakhwada in alignment with Swachh Bharat Mission. A special assembly was held to brief all students and staff about the activities to be held as per the schedule received in CBSE circular. The activities taken up by the school include Swachhta Shapath Day, Swachhta Awareness Day, Community Outreach drive, Green School Drive, Swachhta Participation Day, Hand Wash Day, Personal Hygiene Day, Swachhta Hi Seva Day, Swachhta School Exhibition Day, Swachhta Action Day, Letter Writing Day and Prize Distribution Day. A street Play showcasing the importance of cleanliness and hygiene was presented by the students of Class seventh to create awareness. Community outreach Swachhta drive was conducted by students in their families’ neighbourhood and relatives to spread awareness around. People were told to do proper waste disposal, to keep their homes and surroundings clean and to take special care of their personal hygiene. Senior students played an active role in a community outreach programme. The school has always focused on conserving environment. Principal Farzana Shakeel Ali led the Green School awareness Rally from Tehsil to school to promote plantation in the area along with distribution and planting of thousand saplings. Enthusiastic participation of staff and students was much appreciated by all. All teachers and students were given the charge of classroom cleaning during Swachhta Participation day. The students were shown videos on Personal hygiene and Healthy Hand washing. A demo session for Hand washing was held in all the classes to make children wash hands following all seven steps of Healthy hand washing as suggested by WHO. The school lays special emphasis on eco-friendly methods of waste disposal, cleanliness and hygiene of its students and campus. The principal motivated the students to create awareness about sanitation, hygiene, cleanliness and plantation in their families and neighbours, so as to make a better society with sensitive citizens.
