Why Didn't Russia Ever Make It To the Moon?

A new video delves into the history of the Soviet space program and all the reasons it was never able to put a person on the moon

As you all know, Apollo 11 blasted off on July 16, 1969. Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins were the astronauts on Apollo 11. Four days later, Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon, making history and defeating the Soviets in the space race.

During the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union (Russia) engaged in a competition to see who has the best technology in space.

With the 1957 launch of Sputnik 1, the world's first manmade satellite, the Russians took an early lead in the space race. The next step was to send a human off the planet. On April 12, 1961, aboard the spacecraft Vostok 1, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin becomes the first human being to travel into space.  The Soviets were also the first to first to send a spacecraft around the moon. Their programme was directed by Sergei Korolev, a brilliant aeronautical engineer and expert on rockets. Surely, even if they ultimately didn't win the race, they were close to the finish line. So what happened?

This new video from Curious Droid explains. The answer is a combination of infighting, groupism, poor infrastructure, and unstable technology. Take a look:

It makes me so proud whenever I remind myself about our victory over reaching the moon. Also it is little depressive to know that a wide range of technology is not yet opted by many digital countries such as Russia. I think someday or the other Russia will definitely make it to the moon. This victory is surely going to help the subjects of respective nations.
