Which Ravana Would You Like To Defeat?

As we all know, the story of Dussehra signifies the victory of good over evil, of truth over lies. Our Youth Reporters say in the present day and age, terrorism is the face of Ravana. Something that they would want to defeat, a vice they want to remove from the bud. Neighbouring country Pakistan also faces a lot of wrath as reporters allege that the State sponsors terrorists and supports the evil. Believe it or not, our censor board features as one of the biggest Ravana's of today's world with a lot of ëvil power"and malicious intentions.

Intolerance, negativity and helicopter parenting are the other vices which our students want to do away with. Faulty education system is also a target. Here is an analytic that shows what is the Ravana inside us which we would like to eliminate.

Infographic

Who Is The Modern Day Ravana?

Terrorism: 38%

Faulty Education system: 18%

Intolerance: 15%

Censor Board and its members: 12%

Helicopter parenting: 7%

Pakistan: 5%

People Who Fought In The Name Of Water: 3%

Examinations: 2 %

Youth Reporters Say Terrorism, Pakistan Are Modern Day Ravanas

For me, Ravana is not a person, it is a vice which needs to be rooted out of the world, out of the system. I wish this century could see the end of terrorism and states that sponsor such dreadful people. It's time we fought against these evils with all our might.

Sharnya Dasgupta, class IX, St Mary High School

Terrorism should be totally eliminated. It requires concerted effort, but we need to focus on attacking countries which support terrorism too. Because we are not retaliating doesn't mean we are scared of the enemy. Our image as a peace-loving country needs a makeover.

Shrijana Agarwal, class XII, Amity International school

Pakistan is our biggest foe. The state is like Ravana for us. We need to avenge the death of our soldiers in LoC. They should be taught a good lesson. Even countries supporting Pakistan's ill intentions should be shunned.

Swastik Patnaik, class X, Mother's International School, Delhi

Intolerance Too Is An Evil

India has become a very intolerant nation. It is very disappointing to see people fight against each other for ridiculous reasons such as food, religion, water etc. High time we respected human beings and showed dignity towards them. Being intolerant is not helping our over-all image and foreign relations too. We need to remove intolerance from scratch.

Deepak Shah, class X, Bal Bharti School, Noida

Intolerance will one day be the sole reason of our failure as a nation. We keep announcing to the world that we are all about únity in diversity'but actually we are showing signs of being the worst country when it comes to intolerance. Let's mend our ways and kill this vice.

Aditya Chakraborty, class XI, Government Senior Boys School, Kolkata

Censor Board Takes The Beating too

I would say the Indian Censor Board is our modern day ravana. The members in the board think they have the power to make decisions but they are acting like puppets working under the serving government. Loss of words for such people who knowingly want to put films down to serve their own selfish goals. Should be totally done away with.

Jaydeepa Narng, class VIII

Let's send a strong message against helicopter parents who keep an eye out for their children every time. This isn't the right way to parent your child. Give them some freedom to grow. Such parents set a bad example for others to follow.

Seema Nath, class X, Army Public School, New Delhi

I think so the present day Ravanas are the one who allege women and try to abuse them and damage their personal life like the past Ravana tried to do with seetha. I would like the end of such Ravanas.

S.VIDHYAALAKSHMI SHREE NIKETAN MAT -

Shalini is right. People who try to abuse women are real Ravanas.when rama is going to come and kill them ?

Brenda Marshal PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

Those who abuse women, corrupted people, terrorists, etc are the ravanas of this time.

Ritvik Baweja Bal Bharati Public School

I think the Ravanas today are the corrupt and dishonest officials. They often fool people, trick them and make benefuts. I think these prevailing evils should be burnt as soon as possible.

Sharmeen Khan PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

What we witness today in the form of child rape, honour killing and other such crimes is more heinous than what Ravana did. The media today is full of news with crime against women and children. Yet we are indifferent to these crimes. Every body knows that the co-existence of the good and bad is inevitable. But the inhuman crimes being witnessed today need to be stopped. The law has to play the role of Ram.

Darshil Shah ST. XAVIERS - LOYOLLA -2 LOYOLLA 2

I think that terrorism is the Ravana in today''s world as people cannot live peacefully due to the threat of terrorism. Terrorism should be vanished from this world and if at all it happens then we can say that Ravana is really dead.

Pallavi singh PRESENTATION CONVENT(RED FORT)

Yes the biggest present day ravana from my view is the addiction to smartphones we are so engrossed in it that we forget that there is something beyond it . It hamperes our peace from inside and from outside as well. The life is not so peaceful as it used to be earlier. Even our relationships and that personal touch is lost due to this.

Riya Pandey Childrens academy

Pakistan and terror are present day ravanas and need to be eliminated by ram in the form of unity and strenght.only then the world will be able to experience true peace.

Mansi Borade PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

WE CAN GIVE THIS RAVANA NAME TO THOSE WHO DO NOT GIVE ANY KIND OF GOOD ATTENTION TO ANY OF GIRL CHILD. AND I WOULD LIKE TO END THIS THING AS FAST AS I CAN.

Vandana Subash City International School Wanowrie

I think the Ravana in today''s world is obviously terrorism.Even violence against girls is a big problem which could be destroyed.

Adi Gupta Billabong High International School

I Think that the present day raavan is corruption . this thing is mainly like evil ravaan. It is our biggest foe. Terrorism is the use of intentionally indiscriminate violence in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. It is classified as fourth-generation warfare and as a violent crime. In modern times, terrorism is considered a major threat to society and therefore illegal under anti-terrorism laws in most jurisdictions.so I would like to destroy such ravanas

Bhavana Jaison Atomic Energy Central School No 2

The representatives who are not fulfilling the expectations of the people who elected them and send to the parliament are according to me present day Ravanas . t .

Vishnu Varthan J Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

I would like to defeat Terrorism and Faulty Education system because these are things which stops the growth of a country.

Kashish Verma Bharti Public School Swasthya Vihar

According to me,the present day ravana is the terrorism. I would like to see the end of it.

Aakash Goel HILLWOOD ACADEMY(PREET VIHAR)

I believe corruption to be the vice or ''Raavana'' that has held our country in its grips in this modern day scenario. It is the greatest enemy of our great nation, one that eats it from the inside, and leaves it hollow. Despite the large-scale spread of awareness, this vice shows no signs of being eradicated from our society, and is the most apt embodiment of the ''Ravana'' that needs to be defeated to usher in a period of peace and plenty, or of ''Ram Raj''.

Ritvik Baweja Bal Bharati Public School

Terrorism is the biggest Ravana our Mother Earth is attacked from. As Jatayu being the first terrorist in the Ramayana definitely Army in the form of Rama should defeat this terrorist groups.

Brenda Marshal PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

I would even like to see the end of politics, the people who destroy our beautiful environment...
