Watch: 13.8 Billion Year Journey Of The Universe Till Now

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the daily hustle of our lives, that nothing else matters except what we want and need and how we get it. It’s very easy to forget that we’re not the centre of the universe, not by a long shot. So it’s good to have a reminder every now and again.

This video is just that, a history of our universe, if you will. By remixer and video creator John Boswell, aka melodysheep, it’s a timelapse clips of the entirety of the universe’ existence, with 13.8 billion years compressed into just under 11 minutes.

You can watch the formation and growth of our universe, right from the Big Bang, interspersed with audio clips from notable experts like Brian Cox, Carl Sagan, and David Attenborough.. Boswell has, in the past, gained a bit of fame on YouTube for autotuning and remixing songs from speeches of personalities like Neil deGrasse Tyson and Sagan, and even the cast of ‘Stranger Things’.

In this video, each second represents about 22 million years in time. As it progresses, Boswell explains just how the universe formed, coalesced, and what the processes behind stars, galaxies, and black holes are. With all of that going on, it’s not until about six minutes in that our Sun is even formed.

Humanity doesn’t even appear until the last few seconds, and only as a single frame according to this condensed time scale. It’s a handy way to remember just how small our role is in the universe, and just how young we are as a species.

Let us know what you felt after watching this. We are still in awe

Unbelievable, but this is the reality at least from the perspective of the big bang theory. A very thanks for @melodysheep.
