Top 10 Mars Missions That Will Launch Very Soon

Mars exploration has been all the rage in humanity's modern space race, with all indication that the Red Planet might be our next space home.

Obviously, getting Mars is easier said than done. Whether their previous attempts have been a success or not, here are the Top 10 Mars-based space missions currently underway.

SpaceX
Elon Musk has the most ambitious space project of them all. Mars plans to sen an unmanned cargo probe to look for water resources and hazards in 2022 and send a manned mission with cargo in 2024.

NASA’s Journey to Mars
Given the success rate and overall technological prowess of NASA over all other space agencies, they’ll be the first one to send men to Mars. NASA landed a rover, Pathfinder on Mars back in 1997. They sent InSight to study the interior of the planet using seismic waves. on Mars on May 5.  They are planning to send another rover in 2020 to study any signs of past life. It would be surprising if someone beats them in the race to send a manned mission to Mars

ISRO
Indian Space Research Organization impressed the entire space community by sending a probe to Mars, Mangalyaan successfully to Mars on its first attempt. They are planning to send a lander in 2021/22 and haven’t released any official plans to put men on the planet. Maybe because slow and steady wins the race?

UAE
UAE’s mission is simple, send an unmanned probe, Hope to Mars in 2021. They’ve further declared that they want to build a city by 2117.

Russia
Russia plans to start a 21st Century Cold War with not only the USA but with every other nation and private firm trying to put humans on Mars. Putin said the Russian Mars Mission next year and send people soon after that. Too late to join the race, eh?

Mars One
Mars One is a non-profit organization planning to set up a human settlement on Mars as soon as 2024. It would be surprising if they can achieve this before a space agency can.

Japan’s Martian Moon Exploration mission
Japan being Japan, always stands out. Instead of Mars, they’ve targeted its moons, Deimos and Phobos. They’re planning to send spacecraft to collect samples from the moons and bring them back for analysis.

China
China’s first mission Yinghuo-1, launched in 2011 was a failure. It failed to reach the Mars orbit and was declared lost, finally got destroyed over the Pacific Ocean. Now they’re planning to send a rover in 2020 and a manned mission between 2040 and 2060.

ESA’s ExoMars
European Space Agency plans to send a rover in 2020 to search for signs of any previous life forms. It will also study the planet’s geochemical atmosphere.

Inspiration Mars
Inspirational Mars deserves a special mention, even though it doesn't suit the list. It was too ambitious and obviously is a lost cause now. Started by multi-millionaire Dennis Tito, the mission planned to send a manned rocket to Mars by 2018 or 2021. The mission was scrapped in 2015 and they closed their website.

Space Exploration is important from the viewpoint of scientific development. Neil Armstrong's summed it up beautifully, "That's one small step for a man, a giant leap for mankind."

But wouldn't it be better if we try to save our planet before we find alternative planets to live on?

All the best for future researches. I know that the efforts put on exploring the other planets is not in vain but what''s wrong with earth? It is becoming overpopulated, over polluted and the natural resources are being drained gradually. Can we invest on precautions (though it''s a bit too late) before searching for the cure?
