Tackle The Troll With These Pointers

It’s not a secret that people can be mean on the Internet and, if you live your life online in any appreciable way, you are likely to experience some sort of online harassment –  usually, in the form of trolls, that range from a bit offensive to downright vicious. There are, however, few steps you can take to bounce back.

Block trash trolls
If someone wants to offer constructive criticism, hear them out. But if someone wants to ruin your day by running you down, don’t put up with that. Block the profiles with default icons, delete comments, and report anything offensive.

The emails you get from the foul-mouthed should be posted on social media. It could be quite cathartic. This also means that you’ve taken something upsetting and repackaged it into something that boosts your online presence.

Don’t cling to the negative
Most people are hard on themselves and tend to accept criticism a little too easily. Don’t cling to the negative. There could be 30 happy comments on an article, so don’t focus on the one being negative. Instead, believe it when people tell you that you are awesome.

WHAT IS A TROLL?
A troll is a person who sows discord by upsetting people, by posting inflammatory or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, chat room, or blog). The intent usually is to provoke readers into an emotional response or to disrupt on-topic
discussion.
