Suggest, How India Can End Child Labour?

On his 81st birthday on December 11, President Pranab Mukherjee launched a campaign to end child labour, child slavery and violence against children. At the launch of the '100 Million for 100 Million Campaign' organised by Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi's Satyarthi Children's Foundation, the President said that despite the progress the world has made in science and technology, economic development and in other fields of human endeavour, there are still over a 100 million children who are "out of school". They are being denied their childhood and are facing exploitation in various ways.

The president also asked urged all children and young people from India and abroad to join this campaign and be the torchbearers for a vibrant, compassionate and happy world where every child is free from want, fear and exploitation. On this note, let's discuss ways in which India can put an end to everything and anything that ruins childhood, and how would you like to associate with this campaign.

"The world must realise without further delay that there can be no progress unless our children are safe, secure and unless they are provided the freedom and opportunity to become agents of change for the larger good of humanity. To ensure for them a bright, carefree and secure future, devoid of poverty, violence and want is our bounden duty,"
Pranab Mukherjee

"There is a moral deficient in our willingness to end violence against children…”
Kailash Satyarthi

Despite setting to eradicate child labour from the country by 2016,government has hardly made any progress due to lack of willingness. Solution of this problem lies in economics sphere-improving life in general . However, this problem should also be addressed by society - in shaping public opinion about the dangers of child labour , it''s ,creating conditions for the development of children.

We can put an end to child labour by organising various campaigns and everyone should contribute a little. We have failed to eradicate child labour till now because 80% of the people are selfish. Not all people lack the commitment, but there are many who lack it.

Despite having certain provisions in our constitution, some people still promote child labour. The major reason for this are the children itself, they allow themselves to be exploited and often this occurs due to lack of education. Therefore, it''s our duty to create awareness amongst people and stop them for exploiting small pitiful children for their own benefit.

Any strong problem could be eradicated from its roots if we make a strong commitment. For sure, the youth of the nation should take a stand to educate the illiterate children so that they could rise on their own and don''t need a financial support. By this only we can ensure the decrease in child labour. Opening NGO''s and charitable foundations for orphans can also help to tackle the prevailing problem.

This campaign started by Pranab Mukherjee could only be a success if it achieves it''s objective, and that could only happen, if people take stand to tackle this problem. Therefore, the mindset of the people against exploitation of children should be curbed. Also minors under 18 years of age shouldn''t be hired to work in factories or any industrial sector. Providing free education to underprivileged children can also help to make this nation child labour free.

A strict fine and a severe punishment could do I think. There must be a council who once in a month or a week go round an check if anywhere child labor is practiced.

Yashita Nagpal BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Cancellation of licence of the owners of child worker would be a great step towards curbing child labour. Moreover, regular check over some key areas should be kept. Eucrative education providing schemes should be offered to parents so that they do not make their children work but rather send them to schools even if it is beacuse of selfish reasons.

Himanshi Dhawan Saffron Public School

Child Labour in India is at its peak all because of money-related issues or harassment. It is excruciatingly depressing to see small children getting bruised up while working in factories or homes."Send children to Classes, Not to wash tea glasses". Camps and schools should be established for the children afflicted by poverty. People should be made aware regarding this cruel practice and if practiced, then what are its consequences.

Hafsa Malwat F D SCHOOL

Child is Labour because of Poverty and Poverty is because of Unemployment. So, first of all we have to end Poverty and Unemployment. And we should also await society to stop child Labour.

Despite opening a large number of school and several schemes like midday meals, India is a hub for child labour. People ought to report cases of child labour. Moreover giving poor and orphan children boarding and food might help to ease the problem. Awareness of the government policies among them is prerequisite to tackle the problem.

Khushi Pandit VIDYA NIKETAN

To stop child labour , government should start up boarding schools for children who are homeless. They should be provided food , water and shelter free of cost. Then we can also end clhild labour by organizing various campaigns against it.

I think we should also educate the students as well as parents about the importance of education.

Pragya RUKMINI DEVI PUB. SCHOOL(PITAMPURA)

We can put an end to child labour by doing raids on the small shops. The children then could be sent to government schools where food, education etc. are free. We lack the commitment required as many people are selfish but if we take harsh steps child labour could be eradicated.

SNEHA - R Kulapati munshi bhavan's vidhya mandir

Child labour can be eradicated by providing a free and a facilitated education through government schools along with proper transportation facilities.Children play a vital role in developing the nation and increasing the economic growth rate of the country. The constitutional rights for children have to be strengthened.Great cooperation must be provided by the authorities in rural areas.

Mayank Seth Anandram Jaipuria School

Child labour can be abolished by making strict laws and regulations on violators of child labour. Also , attractive schemes should be launched for free education for the poor. In our country many people lack the commitment required to end child slavery.

MIHIR KHULBE DEEP MEMORIAL PUBLIC SCH(RAMPRASTHA

In order to stop child labour we should not allow any child to work in household that means Abstain from employing a child for any type of work. We should encourage those poor children towards education. And also we should report to police if we see child labour. In this way we can eradicate child labour.

Sai Pratyusha GEAR INNOVATIVE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

We can start free education for all those in bad conditions. This will help our entire country because then we will end child labour. However, out country needs to be on good financial condition to carry out this procedure. Another thing is that we need to does spread the message around the country, so that people are aware of all the consequences. This way, at least more people will be aware. One this is done, it is easier to stop child labour. ~By Sai Pratyusha GEAR innovative Intl school

komal KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA (SR.)(AGCR ENCL)

a special team for this issue will be helpful. fast and strict actions could help in solving such issue. and a different school for these homeless or poor children where education, proper diet, shelter is there and equality is there between teachers and students and between students must be ensure honestly and sanitation should be there and aware kids and their parents about this.

priyanka singhal HILLWOOD ACADEMY(PREET VIHAR)

We all are well versed with the problem but the question lies on what could be done but not actually is done. Firstly, we should must raise awareness so that everyone inspects at the issue with same sensitivity. Secondly, the question remains of strengthening the prevailing laws and making them more strict so that they are better implementing. thirdly and most importantly widening horizons ensuring better educational opportunities, eradicating poverty and promoting schemes like mid day meal.
