Strength Is A Man Thing. Do You Agree?

Many people equate strenght to masculinity, saying that women are not built for certain kind of activities - especially sports which needs muscle and tough games. There are a host of others who feel this statement is a mere fallacy. Farhan Akhtar, a known face in Bollywood, said recently that women are equally capable of participating andx winning games which were previously considered a man's zone. "I think they are much more strong that we, men. The amount of pain they can endure is not a patch on what we can," he said.

There are a lot of filmmakers who have dabbled with this sensitive issue and have come out with winners at the Box Office. "A lot of sports biographies are being made nowadays. There is a need for these stories to be told. Am glad that newage filmmakers have the confidence to deal with such a subject,"Akhtar said.

Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De India marked the beginning of sports-based films in Bollywood. Apart from it being one of SRK's best films till date, all the actresses who debuted in the film went on to do great for themselves. Actress Chitrashi Rawat who played the role of Komal Chautala in the movie, is still remembered for her stellar performance in the film. "People don't relate to my feminine dressing style. They prefer the tom boy Komal look and I don't blame them. That men can play tough games is a stereotype that we have lived with all our lives. But it is time to change that notion. We are already taking small strides towards this,"she said.

Youth Reporters Say Both Genders Can Handle Pressure

I don't subscribe to the idea that strength is only a boy thing. Girls nowadays participate in every activity and emerge winners. At the end of the day, what matters is that we complete the task that is at hand. Who does it or how doesn't really matter.

Arjit Dhanoiya, class X, DPS

It irritates me when people say such things that are completely false. Women can endure much more pain and hurt than their counterparts. We can multitask, handle a lot of things at one time.

Ritisha Wig, class VII, Modern School

Men and women are made in ways which are not similar. We are biologically different beings so the physical aspects cannot be compared. Why can't we be happy as different individuals, why do we have to be alike?

Men are physically equipped, but mentally, women are stronger. They are capable of taking losses in a good way, and will work towards improving. Of course, men do that too, but I feel women do it better.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

no it is not so.

Aishwarya Iyer Deens Academy

No, not at all. That men are physically stronger and women mentally, is just a stereotype. Women can do as much and in fact more than men can if they want to. And due to various reasons, women are capable of enduring greater pain than men can, as Farhan Akhtar rightly said. And it is not like men are mentally not as strong and smart as women. Anyone can be and do anything if he/she wants to. Its just a preset and wrong mentality.

No i don''t agree . Strength is not everything , you should have brains to use the strength wisely.

Nowadays, girls are also competing and winning at sporting events. Strength is not a masculine thing, it applies to both genders. Power to use the strength matters, not the strength itself.

V.Ananya D.A.V. Public School

Our society has just stared to give women some chance to prove themselves in this male dominated world and nobody has any right to say that strength is for men while women have not even been allowed to compete with men at par .

NO,not at all.Strength is not really masculine from mythology world to real life we have always seen examples of women power and strength.

We cannot deny the fact that men are physically stronger than women but this does not mean that women cannot excel in the fields that are called the ''fields for men''.

Himanshi Dhawan Saffron Public School

I think women are more stronger than men. How can we forget that 20-40 bones break while giving birth to a baby. Can a man is capable of bearing such a pain. In Olympics also, Indian women have proved their strength by ruling the roost.

Srividya AIR FORCE SCHOOLYEL

These kind of things make me angry. How can a person say this, even in this modern generation a person having this kind of mentality makes him backward.A women is not equal to men, she is just better than him in every prospect.

Sharmeen Khan PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

Without doubt, strength is not a mens thing. Women these days are equally progressed in sports as their male counterparts. However, it is one''s choice to be who they are. If seeing from the other view, Men too bear the hypocrisy of strength. They are subjected to bullying for being weak. We neeed to understand that strength is an individual''s choice and not a symbol of masculinity.

Ishika Jain BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Women are more mentally socially and emotionally stronger than men. Men only overpower women because of their physical strength. In sports and games, all these elements are essential. Therefore, women are much more stronger in every aspect.

Mansi Kohli JASPAL KAUR PUBLIC SCHOOL(SHALIMAR

People must begin to appreciate the gravity of the situation and start honoring women and their commendable efforts.History bears testimony to the fact that women are more invincible than men. Both men and women are uniquely different from each other and yet, the same. Believing that men are better than women depicts anomie in our society.

That''s not true. Women can come out from their comfort zone easily. That''s proved in recent Amir khan''s movie ''Dangal'' where his daughters were not less than boys. Women are truly strong physically which is equal to men. And they are more strong emotionally and mentally.

Kashish Verma Bharti Public School Swasthya Vihar

I don''t agree with this. Men may be more physically equipped but women are more patient and understanding.

Ritvik Baweja BAL BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (PITAM PUR

The biased and patriarchal mindset has bound women from doing masculine things. I completely disagree that tough games are only meant for males. Don''t you remember our first medal that came in the Olympics was female wrestling. It''s just a tag given that physical games are masculine , in reality anyone who has a desire can do the thing. Gender inequality should be rooted out.

No doubt men are better equipped to play tough games, but women are now leaving them behind in such masculine sports and this stereotypical thing has now being changed by various films, stage shows and real life experiences and we including girl''s parents should also understand this matter if a girlswant to persuade with sports as her carrier.

Brenda Marshal PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

Ofcourse not.. The proof model is PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik the only winners of Olympics from India...

A woman''s guess is much stronger than a man''s certainty

Sajal Jain BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Men are may be better at sports but that doesn''t really mean that strength is a man thing. Women too are full of strength be it physical or mental. And even they are emerging to be physical stronger and better at sports as one may have seen during the Rio Olympics, 2k16.

Dilkhush kaur Bhatnagar International School(Vasant Kunj)

If we talk about women strength then they are the bravest creatures. They face adversity head on,fiercely protect the loved ones, keep fighting past exhaustion and personal pain until all danger is passed. On average, men are stronger than women. A big part of the difference is only based on the amount of muscle each gender has in their bodies. That is, men are stronger simply because they are typically larger most of the reason for greater strength is larger muscles.

PRIYASHA SAXENA APS LBS MARG LUCKNOW

saying that men are superior to women in strength in today''s date is certainly not right. Nowadays we can see ladies as capable as men. Women are both mentally and physically stronger and no one can deny this fact. But due to many kind of stereotypes in society, the problem still persists..........

R.Varsha Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

No,I completely disagree. Women are no way less than women . The only thing is they aren''t given chances to express themselves.

thejwas Army Public School, PRTC

i totally disagree with this topic...how can anyone say that only men can do tough games ...its not the reality....we must not forget mary kom and other great womens who have proved the world that womens are no less than men...i do believe that anyone can be good at any game if they have determination and will power...it doesnt need to be a men or a women...

Really....

I disagree to this view.Strength is not related to men.Though they may appear to be physically stronger than men,the endurance women possess needs to be taken into concern. They have the capabilities to steer their life in par with men.I am strongly against the saying "Frailty is women".

Darshil Shah ST. XAVIERS - LOYOLLA -2 LOYOLLA 2

Definitely not. Women also have the potential to play and win tough games as well. Strength is equipped by both the genders. Be it a man or a woman.

Atharv Vedant SW VIVEKANAND INTL SCH-BORIVALI

Nothing is impossible. Women can beat men in any field. The reason behind it is that women have a better capability to overcome obstacles in serious circumstances. Men also has this quality, but women has a better presence of mind in any field.

Animikha Dutta Dhar Mahadevi Birla World Academy

Definitely not. Women also have the potential to play and win tough games as well. Strength is equipped by both the genders. Be it a man or a woman.
