Lunch Break Manners You Must Know

There is an etiquette code for every place including lunch break. To know more, read on...

It is the time of the day that is eagerly awaited. The time when students rush out of their classes to share food, chat and play. While eating, playing and enjoying the lunch break is all part of the plan, you still have some manner must-haves to follow. Here are some dos and dont's.

1. Eat at a normal pace

You are obviously hungry after that energy sapping Geography lesson but don’t gobble up your food. Eat at a normal pace and enjoy your meal.

2. Don’t peep into others’ tiffin box

It’s normal to be curious about your friends’ lunch box contents. If you are close enough friends, ask each other and share your food. However, don’t peep into a student’s lunch box, especially if you don’t know him/her that well.

3. Respect school rules

It is understandably difficult to keep control in this “recharge” time. However, every school has volume restrictions; respect that and don’t shout.

4. Treat canteen employees with respect

If you eat at the school canteen, how you treat the staff says a lot about your character. Be kind to them. Don’t jostle for food. Always address the employees respectfully – using the customary “Please” and “Thank you” while ordering and receiving food.

5 Clean up your mess

Don’t litter the eating space/canteen/playground. If you drop anything, clean it up after you are done. Sharing table-wiping responsibility amongst yourselves is also a great idea to take charge of keeping your surroundings clean.

Many students can be found talking rudely to canteen employees. We should not forget that if we are spending six hours comfortably at school then the credit goes to such employees who keep the school premises clean.

Many of my classmates come to class after the bell. They never mind that it is wrong. If teachers warn them they never care. If punishment is strict that will be at time.

Rules should be proper and punishment should be strict. Then only students will follow all such rules. The main problem is making too much sound. Also wandering here and there.Sharing is a good habit but it should be done properly, else it will become a mess.Students should respect all the staffs .Otherwise they should be punished. All these affects the behavior of the students.

These rules should be followed by everyone. Also students should wash their hands properly before and after lunch. They should also come back and settle down in class as the bell rings and should not loiter in the corridor even after the lunch break has beens over.

The more you get the more you become neddy and greedy. We cannot learn ethics from newspapers .This manners are not manners but "Sanskars" that we get from our childhood. This is why its important for us to not only behave properly in lunch but also to behave through out the life because our manners only reflect the cultures thought by our parents

Well yes, lunch time is also our fun time, but some of these rules are quite important.

The time we can be free and enjoy.lunch may be without strict rules however everyone must follow these rules for a comfortable atmosphere while eating. All of us have different habits of eating at home but we should be considerate about others in public.
