How Excellent Are You After Failing

We all fail, from time to time, how do we react when failure comes?

Is there anyone here who has never faced failure ? Do we become discouraged when we fail ,or do we pick ourselves up and try again? Do we have valuable insights into using failure as a springboard to success! How can we bounce back?

We  often  take failure personally: We see it as a reflection of our unworthiness and feel hurt. The more we do that we start hating ourselves instead of loving self and that creates negative thoughts and negative results as it undermines our confidence and belief in our capabilities.

See failure as a process of growth not as a sign of stagnation: It's all in your mind. If you have a "growth mindset", then you use your failures to improve. If you have a fixed mindset, after failing you may never try again, but then neither do you learn or grow. Only those who try and try again can succeed. Each challenge gives us an opportunity to prove our worth and brings us nearer to success.

Be mentally agile and aware to manage negative thoughts: You can productively manage how to respond to negative thoughts which are bound to come after failure. Witness them but don't make them your reality. Identify the issue and think and act positively. Success comes to those who are mentally agile and adapt well through their failures.

When you feel you are falling due to failure just roll  and spring back: There is a "right" way to fall, and a "wrong" way. The right way saves one from unnecessary cuts, bruises and even serious injury ...falling headlong and refusing to get up versus rolling over after the fall and springing up are life's lessons we learn the hard way.

Remember to look at people who surround you: It is said " you are the sum of the five people you spend most time with". If you are convinced that you are a failure it may be because the people you associate with either tell you so, or they themselves are depressed. So make sure you are with positive thinking people who inspire and motivate you.

Too many failures? Just move on by pressing the reset button: A reset button makes you aware to start working on self with a new perception. Failure in one field does not mean you can't excel in another. Reset makes you look into your hidden potentials ,into your hidden passions. We have many examples in life of men who saw tremendous success after being labeled as failures after changing their paths.

Practice gratitude: It's easy to be sucked down into the hole of negativity if you are not grateful for what you are blessed with .Think and feel Grateful for all the good things you have in your life instead of taking them for granted. Gratitude brings happiness and happiness changes our attitude toward life to become optimistic.

Be ready to bounce back: Only when a ball bounces back high it can go up towards the sky. Welcome failure and view it as a part of your journey towards growth. Being disappointed in failure is natural but don't live in that emotion, have courage to bounce back. The most successful people are "excellent in failing " because they have a wise attitude towards failure.

It is said that we should learn from our mistakes. Even the successful personalities today, have faced failure. We should never lower our own confidence. Always you won''t be the one to be blamed. Sometimes your peers would be the reason. So choosing wisely would definitely help.

It was my semi-final match in badminton district tournament.I played like one possessed. But I lost to my opponent by the score 21-19.I lost just by two points. That time my mindset was utterly disrupted.Thoughts like quitting badminton came to me.But the next moment,I decided to work harder than ever.I started my practice in real earnest.I was fully prepared for the next tournament. In the tournament,I played really well and went into finals.

It happened that the same opponent came with me whom I lost to in the previous tournament.I played like I never played before and I won by the score 21-17.That failure really made me stronger to emerge as victorious.

There is this one point in everyone''s life when they feel that this is the end. Nothing will ever be alright again - and this is the time that actually tests one''s strength. It is necessary not to lose one''s hope and most importantly, one''s sense of self esteem. Walk through all of it like you know you have a brighter and better future. Like they say, the darkest hour is right before dawn

I love participating in speech contests! But I don''t get selected in the most important competition of our school. So many years after speaking I used to cry over days and nights! But this year to everyone''s surprise I got selected. High schools students didn''t make it to the finals but I''m happy! Next year I''ll try to take a place in the finals too!

But when it comes to academics I''m not so confident. Till last year I was getting good grades which made my family members have expectations on me. Now I''m a board student and I don''t get expected marks. Each time while receiving results I shed tears and the same thing happens. I don''t have the same energy. I know marks doesn''t matter, but school don''t understand. While doing works other than academics I''m so much enthusiastic. But my family want me to balance both. Let me try it out!

I am in a similar situation to Hemalatha, I do well in Quizzes and in giving speeches. I really score good marks in Olympians and all other activities excluding academics. My parents have a lot of expectations on me and next year I am going to face the board. There is utmost pressure on me right now to get good marks as my family knows how good I am non academic. They want me to balance both. I don''t know how well I would score but I am sure that I would give it my best.
