Exciting Summer Camp & Club Ideas. Your Take?

With Summer Vacations knocking on our doors, it is time to find the perfect club to be a part of. Or go for that suitable camp that would not only be fun but add value to our resumes too! Here is a wishlist of clubs and camps that would make vacay a dream come true.

Teach India Club

You may have been a part of some such club in school or have done it as a part of a school project. Why not give this a greater canvas.

Details: The club could start off as a free tution to underprivileged children in your society/colony. Classes could be held in your society premises and could be a weekly activity.

Make it fun: Use your influence to call guest speakers or entertainers who would spend sometime with these kids. There are many story tellers who would love to use this forum to reach out to the masses.

Add on: Look for collaborations and sponsors around your area. Make certificates and medals that you would hand out at the passing day ceremony of these deprived children.

How it helps you? It gives you a chance to interact with many people around your area. Gives you marketing and promotional experience along with a sense of satisfaction. Being the organizer of such a club makes your resume look sharper too.

Human Library Club

There are a lot of things that our elders know and would love to share.

Details: Organize a club where you would invite a senior citizen to spend sometime just talking and discussing about matters of public importance. Let this be a daily activity in which one elderly person from every house gets a podium to share his/her thoughts.

Make it fun: Distribute pamphlets in the society with a profile of the speakers. Add some props to the discussion like an Audio Visual.

How it helps you? Apart from the knowledge that you will gain from the entire exercise, it will also count as event experience. Go for it!

Care for death!

Who says that death has to be painful? You may have heard about clowns visiting terminally ill patients and spend some lighter moments with them. You could do your bit too.

Details: Male a group of like minded children and get in touch with palliative care units (hospitals meant for those patients who may not survive for much long) in your city. Tell them you would like to visit their premises to spread some cheer. Repeat it every fortnight.

Make it fun: Make sashays or badges that you could wear to the unit daily. Of not anything else, it gives you a sense of purpose.

How does it help you? Your giving back to the society could add a lot of weight on the resume too.

Heritage City Guides

Who said travel could not be fun coupled with learning. This summer, rediscover the charm of your city.

Details: Young explorers could select a heritage site in your city and set out on an exploring spree. Organize weekly picnics at lesser known places. Hire a guide and learn more about the historical relevance of the place.

How it helps you: write about these places in your school magazine or brag about it in class.

Camp for scientists: Make a group of people within your society and conduct scientific experiments in your homes. You dont need a special summer school for that.

Club for foodies: baking can be made fun if it happens with friends. Arrange for a baking day at your place and form a club for foodies. Sounds Yummy!

Mr/Ms Fixit: everyone adores a fixer! So go to homes and see how you can lend a helping hand. Points means badges. The best cadet gets a reward from the society.
