Baahubali 2 Was Fab, But Is It Oscar Material?

Since the time ‘Newton’ has been selected as India's official entry in to the Oscars, there has been a debate (more so a controversy) around why 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' was not shortlisted.

Needless to say Baahubali franchise is the most awe-inspiring film India has ever produced, but is it the gem that could strike an Oscar gold?

Meanwhile, Baahubali director S.S. Rajamouli has said that he is not disappointed that his magnum opus "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" was not chosen as India’s official entry to the Oscars for the foreign language film category this year. The filmmaker says his aim is to take stories to a wider audience, and making money for the team, instead of winning awards.

"(I am) Not at all (disappointed at losing out the race to Oscars this year). When I make a film, I never think about awards. It is not my aim. The aim is to first satisfy myself with the story and then next is to see that it reaches the maximum number of audience and makes money for everyone who has put their life in it," Rajamouli told IANS here.

Newton is a social film showing light on the illiteracy and the major problem of naxatile votes in India whereas bahubali was a action film in which the action was stretched a lot making it an overdose.but the film was of good motives

I still couldn''t come to a conclusion what kind of story Newton revolves around. So I cannot compare it with Baahubali. However Baahubali was exceptionally wonderful, which made its team popular. I hope Newton too would reach many people.

it is not usually possible to (this is what I believe) compare two movies of such different genres. both are exceptionally good in their approach.

Newton is a movie based on illiteracy and irresponsiblity of Indian people. In the trailer it is shoen that how officers on polling booth are playing cards. And on he other side there is Baahubali 2 where nothing has sense just a film mixed with animations. The film on social issues(Newton) is selected as official entry in oscars .We cannot say that why Baahubali is not selected as a official entry by India in Oscars because this movie has no sense.

Bahubali 2 may have broken many records, but to be honest, the amount it earned was a little obvious. I personally really liked this film, but the magic was solely because of the sets. The actors were also the best for their roles, but even with that fabulous a set of actors, the film would not have succeeded had the sets been compromised on. Had it created the same magic with fewer promotions and celebration, it definitely could''ve been our Oscar entry.
