IPL Qualifiers And Eliminator

The league stage of the 2017 IPL has concluded on Sunday with Rising Pune Supergiant becoming the fourth and final team to seal passage to the play-off stage of the season's tenth edition, meaning that the business end is ready to roll.

The first qualifier match will be played on May 16 at the Wankhede Stadium between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant, while the Eliminator will be between defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders at Bangalore's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 17. The second Qualifier will also be in Bangalore on May 19 and the final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

In the first three seasons of the IPL, the knockout stage comprised of two semi-finals and the final which meant that four teams had an equal chance of reaching the summit. With the introduction in 2011 of two Qualifiers and the Eliminator, there was added incentive to the teams to finish first and second in the league stage. By doing so, the No 1 and 2 teams on the points table face off with the winner automatically going to the final. The loser of this match gets a second opportunity to qualify for the final, playing what is called the Eliminator.

The picture above will surely bring a smile onto all the RCB fans'' faces. I''m glad they won the last league game. Seeing that smile on Virat Kohli''s face was heartwarming, honestly. It''s the business end of the tournament with 4 Playoffs remaining. All these games promise to be as entertaining as possible. Mumbai Indians, Rising Pune Supergiant, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. The team I wish should win is SRH because they deserve it. Go, Orange Army!

MI has been consistent throughout the season. SRH has been doting on its all-round performances since the inception of this season. They have the upper hand because they won last year. RPS has been a surprise package with Unadkat, Stokes and Rahul Tripathi. However, they will be missing Ben Stokes in the crucial Playoffs which is a matter of concern. Like MI, KKR too has been consistent. I''m particularly impressed by the pinch-hitter Sunil Narine who has boosted the batting department.

Phenomenal cricket had been played by the players of The Royal Challengers Bangalore and they have ended their season on a happy note. It was good to see a smile on the faces of the RCB players. They are not sad that they did not win but they are happy that they have ended their last match on the winning side. Congratulations to the Rising Pune Supergiant for being the fourth and final team to qualify into the play offs. Better luck next time, Kings XI Punjab. The RPS played phenomenally.

I feel that the Mumbai Indians will take the cup again. So, All The Best Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians, Akha Mumbai Jeete ga.

It is kind of shameful for RCB because they have 3 amazing players like Virat, Ab de Villiers and Chris Gayle. I wanted KKR to win. Mumbai Indians and The Rising Pune Supergiants also played well. I think KKR OR SRH should have taken the cup.
