Marathi Day Celebration

St Xavier’s High School, Hiwri Nagar celebrated Marathi Day on February 27, 2018. The chief guest for the programme was Rameshchandra Dixit. The programme started with scripture reading, lightning of lamp, followed by melodiously singing of prayer song.  The importance of  the Marathi Day was highlighted and a thought was depicted in form of a colourful skit. The chief guest  in his address has highlighted on the richness of Marathi language and said that the highest award in literary field ‘Gyanpeth Award’ has been conferred to maximum Marathi writers. He urged the students to develop reading habit and start writing with small write-ups to improve writing skills. He congratulated the students and teachers as being an English medium school, vernacular languages are also given due importance.

The principal in her address congratulated the students for such a colourful programme keeping the very essence of our culture and tradition intact. The programme concluded with vote of thanks, school anthem and national anthem.

We thank respected chairman Dr AF Pinto and managing director Grace Pinto for providing opportunity. Administrator Nishit Vijayan, principal Meenakshi Bhatia, supervisor Kirti Kurumkar appreciated  marathi teachers and students for marvelous performance.
