Your Pet Is Dreaming About You!

The next time you see your adorable pooch snoozing and trying to run the mile, you won't shrug it off as 'just another dreaming about running.'

While interpreting dreams still is uncharted territory, and whether dogs dream at all remains speculative, Dr. Deirdre Barrett, a Clinical and Evolutionary Psychologist at Harvard Medical School suggests it's not unimaginable. And she has good reason to think so - she's invested plenty of work years in studying nightly behaviour patterns in humans, and, along the line, animals.

In an interview with People, she suggests, much to our joy, that our beloved pet might just be dreaming about us. "What we do know for sure is that most mammals have a similar sleep cycle to humans," she explains.

"Humans dream about the same things they’re interested in by day, though more visually and less logically. There’s no reason to think animals are any different. Since dogs are generally extremely attached to their human owners, it’s likely your dog is dreaming of your face, your smell and of pleasing or annoying you."

And as a loving and responsible owner you can ensure that, much like you would for yourself and your children, you create a better daily experience for your dog so they can revisit them whenever they have to.
