Sportspersons Wish Sachin On His B'Day

NEW DELHI: The cricketing fraternity took to Twitter to wish cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as he turned 44 on Monday. The right-handed batsman was born in Mumbai on April 24, 1973 and is the only man to score 100 international hundreds and play 200 Tests, apart from being the first man to score a double century in ODIs.

Mumbai Indians would be celebrating Tendulkar's birthday at the Wankhede stadium where the team will be taking on Rising Pune Supergiant in an IPL encounter. Tendulkar will be present for the game. Mumbai Indians, who have been on a roll after winning six games on the trot, will look to give a perfect gift to Tendulkar by clinching another win.
Meanwhile, the Legends Club has also organised a programme to mark the little master's birthday at the Cricket Club of India in south Mumbai.
Former Baroda and Mumbai player Vasu Paranjpe, who was present when Tendulkar made a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai, will speak on the occasion.
A biographical documentary on Tendulkar "Sachin: A Billion Dreams", is slated for theatrical release on May 26.
Directed by James Erskine, the film, which features Tendulkar himself, captures the Little Master's cricket and personal life in substantial detail, which shedding light on some never heard aspects of his life.
Produced by 200 NotOut Productions, the movie has music by double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman.
