You Won’t Need The Gym To Get Fit!

You Can Eat All You Want If You Do This!

With the winter layers all set to come off, it is time to get into shape. Let’s accept it, going to the gym is going to take a lot more than just buying the membership. We give you some interesting options that aren’t only amazing workouts, but are fun too!

Try a new sport
‘Tis the season to be sporty! Be it Basketball, Badminton, Football, Tennis or even Kabaddi for that matter, not only does it allow you to push your athletic abilities, but also helps increase your stamina!
Where: Siri Fort Sports Complex, August Kranti Marg, Siri Fort, New Delhi
Cost: Rs 450 onwards/ per person (The charges vary with respect to each sport)

Shake a leg or two?
This one is for those who are confident that they do not have two left feet. There is nothing more fun than dancing to your favourite songs and burning calories at the same time. Apart from Bollywood, Hip-Hop and Contemporary, if you are feeling slightly more adventurous, take up B-Boying and try spinning on your head maybe?
Where: Big Dance Centre, Dhan Mill Compound, 100 Ft Road, Chattarpur, Near Qutab Minar Metro Station, New Delhi
Cost: Rs 2200 onwards/ per person

Let the city be your playground
If you have the stamina and have been able to complete more than a few marathons, let’s escalate the game level to Parkour. It includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal movement, and other movements as deemed most suitable for the situation and obstacles. The best part – no one day is dedicated to a particular part of your body.
Where: Zenith Dance Academy, Satya Niketan, New Delhi
Cost: Rs 600 onwards/ per person

Climb up a different ladder
You don’t really have to get out of the city for adventure activities, so stop giving that excuse! Take up rock climbing classes. The false walls and the real heights add to the thrill and are a great way to test your limits. The takeaway – once you get the technique right, you can add it to your itinerary for whenever you travel next.
Where: Delhi Rock, Premises Nanaksar Gurudwara opp M-39 res, GK2, New Delhi
Cost: Rs 400 onwards/ per person

Up in the air
You’ll be surprised, but there is a beginners’ level to aerial acrobatics as well. You can learn to perform fluid movements, transitions and seamless sequences on the aerial hoop. It is a dynamic apparatus, a circular steel ring that provides the perfect frame for your acrobatic moves. It requires a skilful balance of strength, stamina and flexibility. Just make sure you don’t eat much before you hop on, we all know the consequences of that!
Where: Delhi Rock, Premises Nanaksar Gurudwara opp M-39 res, GK2, New Delhi
Cost: Rs 1000 onwards/ per person

Suryanamaskar!
If you are an early riser, make the most of the mornings by going for Yoga classes. Not only will it kick-start your day, but also improve your concentration at work. The asanas, if done right, help in toning each and every part of your body, improves blood circulation and increases metabolism. Who knows, once you start off, you might end up becoming an instructor as well!
