Fashion Inspired By The Lit World

A few days ago, we came across a Roald Dahl inspired clothing line for kids. YES, a whole line of clothes inspired by everything - from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to Fantastic Mr. Fox - by a brand named Boden. After going through their entire collection, we got down to thinking about what other literary-inspired clothing lines we would love to own.

Here's what we came up with. Can you think of more?

Pride & Prejudice

While we definitely don't agree with the classist rules that dictated fashion at the time during which the book was set (sometime in the Victorian era), we would love to get a feel of the clothes from that era. Aside from viewing them solely in terms of costume outfits, we would really enjoy wearing the whole shebang - petticoats, stockings, long silk or lace dresses and gowns, gloves and big hats. What we would love even more, though, would be a 2016 upgrade of the typical Victorian fashion stated in the book, incorporating prints, silhouettes, materials, and colours that are rule the contemporary fashion scene.

The Great Gatsby

When you think of the 20s, you're instantly reminded of The Great Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan. This 2013 movie brought her killer style to life. Yes, people wear flapper dresses all the time, and attempt to copy the style of that time, but we would love a full-blown fashion line that really embodied the flapper culture that was written about in the book.

The Hunger Games Series

Possibly the most fantastical of the three, as much as we would LOVE to wear one of Katniss' elaborate gowns, we would be terrified if our clothes suddenly caught fire. That said, we dream of wearing her games-inspired outfits (that wedding dress!) But we would also be insanely excited by a fashion line dedicated solely to the experimental fashion maven that is Effie Trinket.

What do you think? Got a better idea for a fashion line inspired from the literary world?
