Vidya: Do Political Parties Differ In Their Policies?

Nowadays, according to me mostly the political parties have same programs and policies. There is no meaningful choice offered to the voters. I think the parties should make different policies according to the situation of that state. They just keep on talking about some common topics like electricity and water bills and rate of vegetables and all. All the political parties agree on fundamental aspects and only differ on policies and the form in which they are implemented. I hope in future the political parties will have different and appropriate ideologies.

I agree!

Well, I feel that in the past so many years, there has been an insignificant decline in the ideological differences among parties. This is really bad for democracy as parties do not offer a meaningful choice anymore.

Personally, I feel that it''s natural for political parties to talk about issues like electricity, water and the rate of vegetables because these are some of the most important issues for our nation''s poor. What is more important than access to water and the prices of vegetables which dictate not only availability of food and also the state of the farmers which run our agricultural economy? I agree that the difference is in implementation, I just don''t think that''s necessarily a bad thing.
