Tejashree: Do Marks In Boards Define Success?

Napoleon Bonaparte was at the pinnacle of his glory as he proceeded towards the battle at Waterloo in 1815. Little did he know that this was to become his downfall. This history of descent was marked by the coinage of the phrase 'meeting one's Waterloo' which means encountering defeat.

A somewhat similar fate awaits students of classes X and XII gearing up for the boards. These exams are like that clown who you meet every Halloween and instantaneously break into cold sweat. This has resulted in countless unachievable expectations of teachers, parents, relatives, neighbours  and well-wishers. This further creates an inferiority complex as the child is already under so much pressure to excel at everything. The need of the hour is to encourage them to put in their best efforts.

The rat race to score the highest marks has ruined the institution of learning. We need to change our definition of success and 'good marks' to keep pace with the modern world. It is only by welcoming positive change that we can save young minds from meeting their doom.

Scoring marks doesn''t define success as we all have heard the story of Napoleon who was on the Pinnacle of his Glory and when he went to fight the battle in 1815 of Waterloo really did you know that he is going to have a downfall the same thing occurs in in in the boards scoring doesn''t mean that we have studied all the things mostly students to being better marks in boards but have a failure later on the life

Scoring marks does not even define smartness, leave alone success. Well written. This race to score in board exams is just a code to ''crack the exam'' and not take away knowledge from it.

No, marks can never define success as each student is unique in their own way and this system of marks is making the students only focus on rote learning and not on their holistic development which actually is what they need ahead in life to climb the ladder of success

As it is said,"a single piece of paper can never decide your future". You may or may not perform well but that''s not the end. Life has so much with it and a little failure is just a stepping stone. Just give your best and when you will give your best, you will get the inner satisfaction. You don''t need to prove anything to anybody. IT''S YOUR LIFE, be the performer of it and not the audience.Great opportunities will come and let''s not loose hopes.
