Simran Kohli: Is Facebook Just A Dumpyard Of Memes?

In today’s fast moving world where everything is blossoming around the social media, all the 'social'ising apps are facing a constant threat from each other, and are doing everything possible to be the number 1 amongst the youth. While the youth has swiftly switched from Orkut to Instagram and Snapchat, Facebook has failed to connect with the newer generation. By becoming a social app popular amongst the 90s kids, Facebook has lost its millennial crowd.

It has become a mere source of entertainment where one user tags another in memes or shares videos. With a shooting rise in the Snapchat filter culture and Instagram stories, Facebook seems too old fashioned. It's time they gear up and take charge to be back in the race and compete head on. What's your take?

Which is your favourtie social media platform? — FB, Snapchat, Instagram?

Are you able to connect with the crowd on FB?

A meme is an idea that is readily transmitted from person to person. But we humans are not perfect transmitters. While sometimes we repeat the idea exactly, often we change the meme, either unintentionally, or to embellish or improve it

My favorite social platform is instagram. But now I think that this all sites are just a waste of time..it distacts us from our daily routine. It''s really additive.

We may not be able to blindly agree on this fact, but yes it is filled with them. It''s not what content is shared but what''s it''s effect. It is also allows us to connect with the world and debate on global matters. It is also helpful in spreading social awareness. It all depends on how you use it.

Miss, Please Reassess your "question" as the social sites are not just mere form of entertaining but are sometimes much needed source for knowledge. As for my case... I dont get tagged in memes as long as I dont want to

I don''t like social media like these because true friendship can be made when you know the person well and there is still a large part of the population which don''t use social media.
