Saahil: Why Do We Pretend To Fit In?

Nowadays, I've seen that some of us are behaving in strange manner. As in, we behave in a way exactly opposite from our original behaviour just because we want to 'fit in' into a particular class of society. Some of us think that if we are active on social media the people will call us 'cool'. We don't understand that what we see on social media about a person doesn't mean that the person would be the same. Many times we have seen people being completely opposite from their social life. The problem lies in being fake, is it necessary that you have to act fake to 'fit in' into a particular group.

Why can't all of us just be ourselves; just because you want to stay in a group or attract people towards you, we are making a fool out of ourselves. Everybody has the right to live as they want to nobody can say 'why are you like this'. Each person is a unique one each one has their own merits and demerits as we call it. Not just social media but also in real life people are behaving in such a vague manner.

According to me, if we behave according to the wishes of others we would just remain puppets in this world. Instead of being a puppet why don't we make a personality of ourselves in front of the world where people want to be with you, not by behaving in a particular way but because of the way you live.

Its human nature. Whenever we find a group of people different from us, we show that we are among them so that they accept us or we will feel rejected. Therefore, to enjoy among others, we pretend to be like them. No matter we feel bad, but in order to get accepted we change ourselves.

Well, I''m not at all a person who tries to fit in. i''ll admit that I used to try but I gave it up eventually when I realized that its not worth it. Trust me, even if I don''t fit in I''m very happy doing my own thing, talking to genuine people. Because at the end of the day, your happiness is all that counts.
