Raghav Asks Are Examinations Good Or Bad?

Examinations play an important role in our life.Exams are used to test the knowledge of children. They boost our knowledge, they are very important as one will not revise what he learned.

They help us in developing confidence in our life and educate us. But,nowadays, exams have become a burden for students. Students are given too much homework in schools due to which they cannot get time to play. Playing is as much important as studying. Some students have a lot of talent rather than studying, but due to the burden of exams, they cannot work on it and couldn't show it to anyone. But,they are important also. They challenge us and develop confidence in us. Exams also develop critical thinking in a child. So,in my opinion, exams are good but now-a-days due to increasing syllabus, they are becoming a burden for students.

Very true! I love writing exams just because I get holidays after that! But I completed my quarterly exams today but I have full working day tomorrow. I wish God should make my school management give holiday for us! I love writing exams which test our knowledge and I hate exams which carry our by - hearted answers! Good question!

I agree. I like giving exams as well. Teachers in school teach us ''All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'' but don''t follow it. Schools can also take effective steps by making effective schedules so that balance between study and play is maintained. Here are a few suggestion:- -Giving an off on Saturdays - Atleast 0.5-1 hr play time once a day or once every two days.(strictly followed) - Less homework or sufficient time should be given to submit homework - Atleast 3 holidays after exams

Bharti Sharma Shri Shikshayatan School

I support the idea of conducting exams because they add to our experiences but then totally dislike the fact that exams are seen as a burden by both parents and students. Moreover just because of a certain exam, school is always in a rush to complete the syllabus. So exams have both pros and cons

Moksha Shrivastava BAL BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (NOIDA)

Yes!I love exams although i had failed twice because exams are not burdens or just use rattafication to top and get good jobs.Exams are not everything in life! Albert Einstein was expelled from school in class 8 and.....their are so many other examples.

True. Nowadays students study not to gain knowledge but to top the examination. Our future generation is headed on the wrong path. Examination is needed to ignite knowledge not to put burden.

I think a student should better not ask this question. Exams are always important to test a student how much he/she have learnt till yesterday. Success awaits only for those who accepts their mistakes and corrects it so that in future we must not repeat it again. One way to analyse and know our mistakes is through the exams which are conducted periodically related to various subjects.
