Muskaan Bhatia: Why Perception Differs From Stream To Stream?

In this country, a person with the science background is respected and is valued while the one from the field of humanities is not? Why can't we treat all the fields equally? What is your take on this stereotype based on the division of the subjects?

EXACTLY, I feel the same.Students are categorized/respected on the basis of their streams selected. Not only other people but only our schoolmates(SCIENCE STUDENTS) regulate these kind of acts of demoralizing and demotivating the students who belong to humanities.Even I belong to humanities and am proud to opt the stream, still many more words to say upon the following but now this is the time to prove so called science students wrong by our actions and results.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

That is just a harsh reality of this country.

Riya Pandey Childrens academy

We should treat all the fields equally as both are equally important if seen from a student''s point of view. But,It is a harsh truth that students with science are considered more intelligent as compared to the ones with humanities. if we see at present results than it is art students who are shining and have a good scope.

Priyanshi Banerjee Somerville school, Greater Noida

I myself being a future student to opt humanities feel the same! I guess this stigma can only be uprooted when we prove the world that we are no less than any student from the science stream

IT IS QUITE GOOD FACT.

You have a raised a very good and innovative question. In today''s world people feel that it is necessary to take Science as a stream to gain success. But they don''t feel that other streams have their benefits too. It is very wrong to judge a person by his/her streams.

Khushi Sharma BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

People distinguish and judge students on the basis of the stream which they have opt for. They often forget the fact that all the successful people of this world are not from the same stream & all the students of a particular stream are not successful.

Bhavana Jaison Atomic Energy Central School No 2

Children should be given more awareness about the opportunities in the humanistic fields.Everyone talks about engineering and medicine so children''s attention will be diverted to the science field and by the time they realise ,it will be too late.

saishalini Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

We are not able to treat all the fields equally because in our country importance is not given for all fields which needs more means and ways which has not developed yet.

saishalini Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Most of them try to strive on the same field which yields more money and fear obstructs the from taking challenges and different jobs.

Pallavi singh PRESENTATION CONVENT(RED FORT)

Yes, this ideology is rampant. One should not be judged on the basis of the stream he possession but how well he or she does in that stream. If the student can analyse, apply the knowledge in daily life. And can research, explore instead of just mugging up for exam then the student is no less than anyone and can become great in the field.

Himanshi Dhawan Saffron Public School

It''s the mindset of the people that only the science students are laudable as it''s not an easy job to do whereas humanities is considered as the stream of back benchers which is completely wrong. Every science student cannot compete with a humanities or commerce student. In my opinion Science, Commerce and Humanities are equally difficult.

Sanjula Gupta BHAWAN VIDYALAYA CHD-SEC-27

A class 11 student was once asked about his stream. He replied," I have opted for humanities but I got 10 CGPA in class 10." So here, the student was just asked about his stream but he even told his marks. He just wanted to clarify that he didn''t opt for arts because he was weak in studies. This clearly reflects the unfair stereotypes prevalent in our country.

MEGHA BANSAL RAINBOW ENGLISH SCHOOL (JANAKPURI)

Exactly. This si what I am facing. Everyone around me is expecting Science stream from me but when I tell tham that I am interested in Humanities either they give way for that smile or they try to tell me that I shouldn''t be wasting my talent. ''They'' also include who are themselves from Humanities but still consider it the worst and easiest, if actually so then why the highest percentage each year isn''t of Humanities, because it is difficult.
