Masoom Grover: Is Anger A Result Of Depression?

I've seen quite a few people bursting into tears while they are angry. It's like right now they are howling and growling at you and then suddenly a second later they have this abrupt outburst. Such a situation often tricks. Is it that they have been hiding a lot of emotions within them or are they going through something really disturbing off-lately? Or, is it just in their nature to be angry? Aggression can be a personality trait but I think there is always a reason behind that aggression. What's your take on this?

It''s true. When somebody is in depression he will surely act opposite of his real attitude. No one gets angry just like that . There is surely something that is disturbing them which forces them to act like this way.

Yes, anger is a result of depression. Often when things don''t work out the way they you want them to work, one gets fraustrated and most often gets depressed. In order to prevent it, one can meditate.

depression cause isolation ,you start feeling people don''t care about you....you see them as your enemies and thus anger emerges

Every emotion a person exhibits has a reason behind it. Often the cause behind anger is helplessness. Feeling the need to change a situation and not being able to do so, often results in anger and it does not take a lot of time for that anger to melt down to tears of helplessness. Emotions are tricky, because we never know what the other person feels, and all we can do is listen to them, talk to them and try to put them at ease.

Anger leads to depression. This is actually true! One simple don''t know the consequences of being angry on someone and looses the ability to think and take mature decisions and handle the situation well. Later the person regrets and feel alone. Rather being angry and taking stupid steps , one can simply manage to remain silent. This will help for the situation to sort out itself for sure.

well it''s true to some extent that we usually become angry when something is hurting our mind and in that anger we sometimes end up shouting at someone to get rid of the frustration. But as soon as we realize our mistake we start crying because we are overpowered by emotions that we were trying to hide for a long time.

P.S Geethanjali Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Sri Venkateswara vidyalaya,T

Yes,It''s real.We become angry when suffer from depression. We get anger even when we are not able to complete what we thought or things don''t go as planned or when somebody doesn''t listen to us and even when we are hungry. The best for reducing anger is to do meditation or be quiet for sometime.Elders say we shouldn''t take decisions while we are angry.Being angry all the time is a bad habit and we need to change it.Angriness is never helpful for a person.

i totally agree with your statement that, anger can lead to depression and other health related problems .it can be just by the irritation or kind of fight which can affect this kind of attitude on many things .the result may not be fruitful for them .it can be the reason of disturbance about something by which they get stressed!! and do not open themselves to other people, which can be done.by sharing the thoughts openly with others.

yes.. its obvious because depression is a kind of stress that affects our mental health and looses control from us and makes us feel angry. we should avoid ourselves from getting in depression because it affects our health only in the exposure to high blood pressure, obesity etc.. saumya vii a queens valley school dwarka sec 08

It''s true to some level. But ofcource it cant be the only reason. Many other factors like irritation, frustration and even sometimes unhappiness ignite the emotion of anger.

rashi khanna BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

yes, it is true that anger leads to a depression and due to anger people lost their sense. and it cause the conflicts between the people.

Harini.V Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Not only depression causes anger, even expectations causes it. Today, many disorders like diabetes and blood pressure are caused because of anger. So it''s better we avoid getting angry. We can practice meditation to have a peaceful mind.
