Leshaya Sharma: Why Grannies Don't Get Their Due?

They are the roots of the family system, still, they are not treated the way they should be? Why is that so? Shouldn't our grandparents be loved, instead of being cursed for their sensitive needs in the last stages of their life?

In my family, there is no such case . I wish others take inspiration from us.

This is excruciatingly depressing that old parents are seen as burden by the children. They get so engrossed in their materialistic life that they almost forget the love and affection their old parents shower on them. They start taking their sacrifices and love for granted. We all should realize the fact that old parents are the real lights of our house and without them our houses will turn into mere stark outlines.

Old-age is man''s second childhood, just as a child needs affection and care and is also stubborn at times, same is the case with our grandparents. In our competitive and materialistic world we get so busy that at time we almost forget the root of our success, our PARENTS.It is our duty to take care of them, spend time with them, make them happy and never forget their sacrifices and love in making us grow.

We can never give as much as our parents have given us but we can show as much gratitude we can till they are with us.

I have never seen such a thing in my family but I am sure that such things happen around the world. It is distressing when I get to hear such cases in the news or maybe from somewhere else. Children hardly remember what their parents actually did for them, they feel it was their duty they didn''t do any sort of favour. But children should realize that it is the old members of their family because of whom they are who they are.

Wll thought wat being said is right in india we have a culture of living with parents in old age also and respecting too so this should be the case

One of my teachers said that generally in most houses grandparents are left in orphanage. She said that one is situated next to her house. Even there they are not treated so well. So don''t do such things. They have a child''s heart. Take care of them carefully.

It is not their needs which are discerned ''irritable'' and of no significance. When they will to spend moments with us or to exchange thoughts,we tend to be caught up with some work.Hardly,we save time to spend with them. So,the reason is our occupancy with work.Of course, they are to be love and cared but this is possible only when we SAVE TIME for them.
