L S Pradeepaa: Can We Go Paperless?

This is a question that has left  everyone perplexed. Given today's bleak scenario it seems like we have to. If we continue to use paper at this rate we will certainly face an environmental crisis in the next 10 years or so. The other alternative is to use computers and laptops, but everything has its own pros and cons. Using computers and laptops can help us reduce our dependence on paper, but the use of such devices in schools can be counter-productive. However, computers provide an easily accessible way of slacking off in class without anyone noticing, therefore decreasing the amount of effective learning. Students are more likely to be engrossed in whatever is on their screens and less likely to participate in healthy discussions in the classroom. Also, the use of devices creates an anti-sociable environment which has a negative impact in classrooms, where students should actually be interacting.

Paper is an essential part of our daily life, but if we replace it with an electronic device, we would be using it all day, which may become the main cause for eyesight-related problems in the long run. At the same time, what is better than lazing on a couch and reading your favourite book? The solution to this problem is to reduce the use of paper. Though everyone should strive to be as environmentally conscious as possible, this doesn't necessarily mean going completely paperless.

That might happen but I think I''ll not enjoy that. To save papers we can opt the method what KV did. Old books can be used by the next batch students. Instead of buying new novels you can buy old ones. This will help.

Yep love your thought.. I wish one day or the other the world would go paperless and simultaneously there would be an increased knowledge about technical gadgets. They say that more than ten thousand trees are just cut for making exam papers. Huh I would not say no to exams but no to the way of writing exams on paper. Paperless world is a good idea which must be made into act by the politicians which is one of the most effective ways to make it possible.

we can do it as it seems friendly for the environment but there will be more e waste generated and electricity used . it may not be economical for all either yet the concept is very nice

R.Lokeshwaran Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Papers come trees . It reduces the cuting down of trees.so it is important to reduce the usage of paper.

Akshay Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

This idea of using laptops and computers are good, because u can''t just cut down the trees and the upcoming generation will face the consequences . We just need to be Eco friendly and say no to cutting down of trees and save trees for our future generations...

This will be a great initiative and a helpful part will be taken in making indian go green, in this world in india we follow a education system based on just learning like a parrots and scoring marks it''s just a waste of paper they should conduct papers but practical knowledge should be take as much important than papers

We can go paperless . As technology improved, schools over the globe excpet india are using mobiles, laptops and tablets for taking notes. We are not asking for anything else .we are just bored of taking notes and writing them down . but for a change if we are allowed to take notes in laptops we wont have so much tension and burden to carry all these classworks etc.... . school boards should consider aboutthis . We are living in 21st century no wonder why we still cut trees and use papers

Priscilla B San Academy

now a days children love technology . why dont we access them in schools a laptop with only microsoft and other useful apps which enrich kids mind can be installed. so that children concentrate on studies and also have interest in learning .

Surely, We can make the world of E-Newspapers real, as so many schools waste notebooks for no reason. Many countries should opt for greener worlds so we can make the Earth a better place.

Yes i do want this system in every school that students would likely to use pads, laptop etc.. this will change the future of environment because daily usage of paper makes a lot of trees cut. So having digital pads is a good option.
