Kavya: Should You Judge People On Their Looks?

Is judging people by their appearance, a very common thing in India, correct? According to me, not at all. We Indians have a very bad habit of guessing a persons personality by his looks. Just start from your home, your mom always tells you to dress properly and have a descent old fashion hair cut, just because it makes you look more gentle. But it is not necessary that you're always right about the persons personality. Maybe the person doesn't have a very good fashion sense and does not wear that good but may turn out to be a business tycoon. Maybe a person with a very nice hairstyle and good looking bright cloths might be a jobless man. You might have heard people saying "I can tell you weather he/she is worthy or not, just by having a glance on him/her." Well, ask them in return, 'can you read his/her class 10 marks on his face or is it written on his/her cloths?'. Judging on the basis of appearance is also a kind of discrimination and so we should always keep this habit of ours in control.

Appearence should not be judged however actions and behaviour of a person speak a lot about the person like if we see someone with untidy hair we feel they are clumsy but it is wrong to judge according to appearances like skin colour, height Etc.

No. Absolutely not. That is stereotypical. Bad looks. Bad people. Good looks. Good people. Why does one do this? Mr. Kahlil Gibran has aptly quoted "Beauty is not in the face, beauty is a light in the heart." That light proves how noble one is as a person. One''s internal beauty is what strikes a chord, not the outer beauty.

I think people should not be judged on what they look like but on how they behave ... Good topic Kavya didi ...

I totally agree. Looks cannot make you judge a person. Its the beauty in one''s personality which is more important than beautiful looks. India is obsessed with good looks and fair skin and people forget that a beautiful face does not equate to a beautiful heart.

appearance should not tell the people''s personality ..you should not judge them unless you know them... apperance don''t show the personality and behavior and the talent behind them..it is very harsh to judge them. The actions usually tell what they are . You should know them by heart , then will you know the people. People are actually pure by heart ..and that is not shown by their face and i meant" face"

Akshita Pandey LILAVATI BAI PODAR (A)-SCRUZ

No, you should not judge people on their looks. Their kindness and generosity towards others is more important. Beauty comes from the helpful actions you show and it also comes from your heart.

People will look beautiful if you have love and respect on them. If your thoughts are beautiful you''ll look beautiful. So one should never judge people by their appearance.

The way a person looks is a god gift and can''t be judged. However, there is always a need for us to enhance our already gifted beauty. Dressing with utmost sophistication, behaving in a polite manner are some things which add the required essence to our personality. For example, It is not the clothes we wear that describe us, instead it is the way we carry the dress that counts. So, god gifted Appearance is not a criteria to judge a person.

True. We should not judge people by their appearance. People should be judged by their character and nature. Moreover looks doesn''t say anything about us nor does it define our personality but it is the beauty of the heart that actually speaks. Many people have developed a wrong notion about people coming from north-east as they look different but that''s incorrect. First peep inside the person and then decide. Do not decide just by looks!

Emima Thangapandi PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

Judging with appearance is really a very big discrimination that we have to overcome. This has turned to a habit now.

Not at all. Physical appearance doesn''t matter. We love someone only because of the person''s inner beauty. What matters are not looks but a good heart

Balaji S VANI VIDYALAYA S.S.S & JR. COLG

People should never be judged based on their appearance. True Personality of a person is based on his inner qualities only. Great Leaders are remembered in our minds due to their good qualities and contribution to the society and not just based on their physical appearance.
