Jiya Tomar: Can Sports Ease Out India And Pakistan?
Amir Khan

Britain's youngest boxing World Champion Amir Khan recently remarked that "The best way to achieve peace between India and Pakistan is through sports". Considering that the two countries have been engaged in a cross-border conflict over the last one year, does this remark makes sense to you? Do you think these two countries can befriend each other via sports? Will sports prove to be beneficial for the two nations?  What do you think about this?

It makes no proper sense to me as a win in sports by either of the countries is neither a written treaty or diplomatic victory. Plus, the outcome of a game can always vary.

It might! But I not so sure about it. But it might reduce some percent of conflicts.

Sports is a form of entertainment. At least, there shouldn''t be any political interference in the field. Already there is a lot of enmity between the two nations that dates back to years. This rivalry and animosity won''t be curtailed via sports according to me, because there is a lot both these countries are going through everyday.

I totally agree with Ayushi. We watch sports for our entertainment purpose and if people will bring the enmity and the political fights of countries, it will not be right. Players should play the sport with harmony and peace and should maintain equal relationships with every country''s team.

I feel that good sporting ties between India and Pakistan can help ease out the political tension which has gripped the two sides .Also this will prove to be more effective if the players play with good harmony and sportsman spirit on the field
