Hemalatha G: Youngsters Don't Respect Elders. Why?

How many times have you come across kids who scold their parents? Are you aware that your friends speak ill of your teacher when they leave the class? Have you seen people who hit elders and just get away with it without even apologising?

I'm tired! I'm literally tired, complaining and advising such people. When children grow up, they tend to seek bad company and fail to respect their parents. They don't value the words of someone elder to them. That's totally wrong. Respect your elders. They've got more experience. Respect them, treat them with love! Be happy with them!
Have you ever come across people who don't respect their elders? How do you deal with them?

People normally don''t respect their parents this generation . But earlier it was upside down . I say that it is the parents who teach everything to children . I f they allow it , there is no way . Parents'' should scold children and keep them in the control ......

Shweta Ullala National Academy For Learning

Very true! I have come across many such people!

Our generation don''t respect their parents. They shout on their parents just like they had done something wrong by giving birth to them. If our generation is like this how our next generation will be. We should respect our parents. They are above then god and they have right to say anything to us.... Earlier children love their parents more then themselves but now the situation is worse then ever... What would happen no one knows...

Prathamesh Kandale HILLGREEN SCHOOL

i have observed these kind of people many times.the only way to improve teens in this is to handle the circumstance themselves and make them understand the value by practical sense.then only they will understand the value of their parents.

R.Suman Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Very true.

In those days, children will respect elders. But now, television is spoiling children. So, at my point elders can be responsible for their children`s spoiled behavior.

Avani Gala RSR SCHOOL

I agree with this. Many children don''t show respect to their parents. They forget to maintain discipline and decorum in front of their parents. They speak back, shout and scold. But, on the contrary, it is the parents who let go every time, thus giving a platform and indirectly encouraging the child to get more spoilt. Too much freedom from the parent''s side can have a wrong effect on the child''s mental state.

Aishwarya Iyer Deens Academy

Its true, respect for elders is declining. But looking at it from the child''s point of view. It often happens that the child disobeys and disrespects parents and other elders either because they have picked up the habit from somewhere or it is because they disagree with their parents on a certain issue. this is especially prevalent in teenage years. I''m sure all of us too have differences with our parents on many things.

Aishwarya Iyer Deens Academy

However, whether opinions differ or not, this doesnt mean you disrespect them.Although, you cannot be expected to shut your mouth always and obey. it is also necessary that you express your point of view. Sometimes, parents too, fail to understand the child, and in desperation, the child is forced to use harsh language. I''m not supporting any side, instead, let''s look at it from both perspectives.

super I will respect my elders

vy.pragathieswar DHARAM HINDUJA MAT HR. SEC. SCHOOL

it''very true

Vishnupriya Saji Army Public School, PRTC

Today''s present generation is completely behind social media and they think respecting others, be it elders or the younger ones is just waste . In fact , they don''t even try to realize the importance of respecting others. This actually leaves a very bad impression .

Advika Devanshi UDGAM SCHOOL

According to me it''s just a myth that the new generation is disrespectful towards their elders. Some rotten apples are found in every basket of apples. So because of one or two rotten people you cannot judge the entire generation. This generation is also very respectful towards their parents, teachers and even strangers. But the thing is that they present their thoughts too quick which sometimes hurts people and people consider it as misbehavior. So sorry Hemalatha, I don''t agree with you.

Gagana M D SCHOOL VIVEKANANDA SAHAKARANAGAR

When we say that a child does not respect his/her parent, it is not entirely the child''s fault. We children get a strong influence from the surroundings. Our learning process first begins at home. Parents should spend some time with their children teaching such ethical values. An apple never falls far from the tree.

Jayasakthi.R Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

I hate children those who do not respect parents.without them you could have not entered this world.parents at their children''s young age should not encourage this habit.
