Hargun Kochhar: How To Act Your Age?

Parents keep telling us to act our age, we are expected to do things the way they are told to us but do our wishes count? I mean parents are supportive in many ways but when it comes to get some freedom they simply say "you are not that grown up" then how are we exactly supposed to act our age.

these things can''t be taught it is natural.

The phrase ''act your age'' can be said in 2 ways. One is the way Hargun says and the other is when we act too childish. Although acting your age is important, it is also important that we smetimes act a bit below our age, to enjoy childhood. We all do feel like acting like a small kid sometimes don''t we? And as Nishi says, everything can''t be taught. Somethings come naturally from within.

Yes I agree with the above points according to some preconceived notions we are supposed to act in that direction according to our parents. They are right most of the times but sometimes they say that we should understand things because we are grown ups but other way round they turn and we are declared as young ones without experience.

I always wanted to play with a gun. This can''t be said as nature but our desire to play with it.

It is nature of all parents

We all are in middle of adolescence and it''s something quite natural to feel as if our freedom is taken away from us.But our parents always mean good for us.

actually there is nothing like we need to respect our age and act according it. We just need to act according to the situation. sometimes acting kiddish is really fun but sometimes it is silly. Thinking too much about age and not acting according to it will stop us from enjoying few moments........

HIMANI KALRA BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

I think parents should preserve the freedom of their chlidren after all everyone needs space in his/her life.

V.Ananya D.A.V. Public School

According to parents acting our age simply means doing what they want us to do and not what we want . they should also respect our feelings .

This is one of those historical and expectional questions which still need to answered and most confusing for most of us to understand.
