Darshil Shah: What Is The Need To Burst Fire Crackers?

Air pollution kills millions of people around the globe every year. Even in India, air pollution is a major issue.

Every year when Diwali approaches, we start building up on the pollution level by bursting crackers. I don’t really understand, what is the need to burst fire crackers? It will just give you an hour of joy and nothing else. The damages will take months to be repaired. On the other hand it will affect the environment very badly. Instead of spending your valuable money on fire crackers, you can donate that money to some social service organization which will help the people in need, and honestly that will give you more joy than bursting crackers. So friends let's pledge that we will not burst fire crackers this Diwali and save the Environment.

It''s true . It''s a festival of lights, we can light up smiles on 100s of children who don''t have anyone to care for them, with our good deeds

I had submitted the exact same article and it did not get published..why are my articles not being published??

Khushi Sharma BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Exactly! I don''t understand that when did the trend of bursting crackers evolved? & even why? A few decades back this wasn''t the way of celebrating Diwali then why did we start to enjoy the festival in this manner?

Let''s all who agree with darshil nor burn crackers this year. We will all burn a bad quality in us instead to make the world a better place to live in.

It ''s absolutely true . Even though we burst crackers it gives pleasure for few hours but it takes long time to regain same environment.so happy safe diwali☆☆☆☆☆

Neha Deshkar MONTFORT

The question raised by Darshil is very correct. It''s the need of the hour to celebrate Eco friendly Diwali.

Thakur Aastha REUBS

Exactly, I don''t understand does it necessary to burn cracker. Diwali is festival of light. Diwali is only time when we have sufficient time to spend time with our family, friends, and to visit our old friends. It''s a simple think that if u get money u will burn it no na then why to burn crackers they are bought by that money only. I think if we student only take the pledge that we will not burn the crackers then it would be great!

Hiya Kilam global indian internatonal school

A few days back, all the students of my school took a pledge to not burn firecrackers this year. It kills many animals around us. Every time we buy a cracker, we only encourage child labor. Let us all pledge to celebrate a cracker free diwali this year.

Pragadeesh Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

Bursting crackers on diwali makes us fall on full enjoyment.on every year people people bursting crackers on large scale..people doesn''t look on the damages and pollution made by it..we can burst crackers only on childhood days for enjoying..but for matured people know the defect made by it..so we have limit the usage it

Harini.V Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Bursting crackers not pollutes the environment and also it is a waste of money. Instead, we can buy some new dresses and sweets to poor children. This spreads happiness everywhere.

Radhika Ghildiyal BGS National Public School

Bursting crackers has become a very important tradition for us Indians. But, obviously in today''s generation, it has become a need to limit our bursting of crackers. Wish you all a Happy and a Safe Diwali!!!

JIYA TOMAR B G S NATIONAL PUBLIC SCHOOL

See, I think that the case shouldn''t be somewhere wherein we directly oppose and perhaps even cease the bursting of crackers because everything has got its own limits of providing ecstasy and creating a riveting atmosphere of effervescence and a few low points that can at times hinder others. Similarly, crackers if burnt too much can certainly cause pollution and all but if done a little maybe, it shall be fine.

Onkarpreet Bhavan Vidyalaya

I completely agree with what you said. Why is there a need to burst crackers? For fun of an hour or two, we cause irreparable damage to the environment. It is high time that we realise all our past mistakes. Why make the planet a place that won''t let our future generations survive? And talking of Diwali, why burst crackers? Diwali is the festival of lights and joys. We need to realize this. Seriously.

Yashita Nagpal BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

People burst crackers for fun and enjoyment. But this inturn effects the environment as well as our health. We should analyse the ongoing environmental problems and try not to burn crackers and we must also spread this message of celebrating a cracker free and safe diwali every year so that we can save our nature and health both at the same time. Moreover,at a big note, ban on crackers and other pollutants should also be done so that their is no risk of harm to our life providing nature.

Kavana Anklekar The Orbis School

True. The point is that we as a society have not evolved. Diwali has rather become a festival of Narcissism and Hypocrisy. I have seen students asking others not to burst crackers and bursting crackers right in front of our nose. We are ready to spend thousands for a few minutes of stupid,Irrational joy but think a million times over before helping someone in need. If this continues, humanity shall cease to exist.

Haya Naved FATHER AGNEL SCHOOL(GAUTAM NAGAR)

I agree there isn''t a need to burst crackers . Diwali is a beautiful festival of lights. Lights are nowadays mistaken as crackers. Though crackers produce light, They are of great harm. Diya''s look elegant and give the real feel of the festival. So i don''t think there is need of wasting money on something which is going to harm you later.

Some people just want to have fun. They don''t think about the environment. They are known as mean...

Instead of burning crackers, Diwali festival can be enjoyed by spreading love among poor chirldren....

Jessica Kabuli CARMEL CONVENT SCH SEC 9 CHD

Since time immemorial fireworks were burnt because they had no other source of entertainment. But living in the 21st century I personally feel that we must not burn crackers and celebrate Diwali in such a way that someone''s house get lit up and not burnt down.
