Aditi: Is 'One Nation One Election' The Way Forward?

To survive in peace and harmony, and to be united and strong, it is necessary to  have one nation, one flag and one election. It is important for us to vote for the right candidate as leadership is not about the next election, it’s about the next generation.

There are many arguments in favour of the one nation one election theory – it reduces the burden of expenditure. If there are common elections it can save a lot of money for the nation, but if the elected political party is corrupt, the people will not be able to choose a better one. Second, it will reduce noise pollution, as political parties take out rallies in different states to convince people to cast votes in their favour. Third, people are not completely aware of the one nation one election policy. It is important to create awareness among the people to implement it. Fourth, this can also have an adverse impact on the nation. If the people are not satisfied with the administration of the ruling government and want a change, it will not be possible and they will have to bear the oppressive government for five years. Last is the threat of dictatorship, if control goes into the wrong hands.

The ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal is being advocated by Prime Minister Narender Modi, and appears to be a welcome reform. It will save time, resources and energy of our nation, and also allow the government to proceed without distractions. It may also require the Constitution to be amended, but such an amendment is desirable and good for our nation.

Though there are many negative results like a country suffering for five years, however if we look at the positive side, the country becomes united and gets to vote, which reduces the expenditure and if the politician is a great leader, the entire country can enjoy the result. I completely support ''One Nation, One election''.

One nation one election is merely a dream of the BJP lead government . It not only ends the importance of the regional parties but also end the regional issues . It will only be beneficial to the national parties . Moreover a large number of people from the various forces would also be needed . I would definitely like to see how the government tackle these situations
