Shalom: What Freedom Means To Me

Freedom is everything. Freedom makes your dreams come true. I would miss so much if I did not have freedom. I would not be able to do all the fun things that I do now; like going out with my friends and family, enjoying my favourite foods like ice-cream, going for vacations to see new places, trying new activities. I would not be able to play my favourite video game, feel happy with playing Pokemon toys or get to go to school, do what I like. I want to be an astronaut when I grow up.

Never forget animals need their freedom. I think birds should be able to fly in the sky, not be kept in cages, that is not their home. Even fish should be in the sea, not kept in tanks or aquarium. People should understand that’s not their home. Stop cutting trees as it means animals who live there don’t have a home. You are taking their freedom to live in their home away.

Of course, killing animals is bad, it takes away everything and their freedom to live. Keep your heart and mind free of bad thoughts, and fears. Like if your dream can come true, its a choice – but if your mind is too nervous then you are taking away your freedom. Freedom doesn’t mean to make someone feel sad. Freedom means to live happily and peacefully.

My parents have given me the freedom to choose what I want to do. But that does not mean being naughty and do bad things. And as India is celebrating 72 years of independence it’s given us the freedom to think, talk and move freely that’s why it’s such a nice country. I feel everyone should be allowed to live freely in whichever way they want to. If people are happy the world will be a happier place.

Freedom is something that is indivisible and the natural right of all who step on this planet. For me freedom is when I am free to run around my garden behind my grandparent''s bungalow, it is when I am free go on treks and observe the wildlife, it is when I have the right to choose my own career and embark on that journey. But most importantly ,freedom is when I have the right to make my own decisions and stand by them at all costs.

@Sahana: You are absolutely right! - "It''s not about being perfect, just be yourself and courageous." I do and love what I am doing. I''m very lucky that my parents mentor and support me with what I do and what I want to do. What I feel about the freedom that you can understand from my poem titled The Wings (https://toistudent.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/news/hall-of-fame/shalom-s-poem-on-the-wings/35899.html).

"A secret to happiness is freedom and secret to freedom is courage ".Freedom, generally is the ability to take actions and decisions without any curtailment.Freedom according to me is to ''eat...sleep...repeat.When I was a child when I shout at my parents or do something nonsense also they would enjoy it.But now I should only be sitting in the home studying always. But I do get freedom when my parents allows me to go out with my friends. I really enjoy these times

Freedom is nothing but being without losing self respect ,dignity and determination.I would like to go all around the world myself exploring new things and be the way I want. There should be no hurdles in my way.I should have all the courage to face all the things which comes my way.I would like to create a new world which is full of happiness and freedom which is definitely youth friendly. Its not about being perfect, just be yourself and courageous.
