Mohit: Peer Pressure, Temptation Leads To Drug Trap

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is here. So, we have plays and boring speeches on “Say no to drugs” and blah. Okay. This is nonsense. Let’s get to the point. Drugs have a hallucinating effect on the person who is drugged. This kind of sounds cool, but ain’t.

Drugs have serious effects on your body. There are loads of quacks and smugglers who sell these things for exorbitant prices. There are the many ‘avatars’ of death. Say let’s take an example of an X and Y. Both are IX graders. Assume that X and Y are good friends. So X had gone to a party. Another Z, who had come to the party along with some friends, took drugs in the party. Timid X, who was a very good student, focused and attentive, was lured in the trap of drug abuse. Z and co. tempted her to join them. X finally after lot of coercion, agreed and joined the group. One day, while walking home, X took a dose of drugs and urged Y to have some. From then, X became aggressive and started to lack in studies. The principal smelt a rat as X was not the same. Then, the principal found the reason by asking Y, who was very bothered about X’s safety. Then, the principal admitted X to a rehab center. Four months later, X was her own self. And X and Y lived happily forever.

So, this is the end of my miniature fairy tale. But thousands of such incidents take place in the world. So, we must be on our guard, always try to say No, not get tempted or fall for peer pressure. So let us all say together, 'Let’s live a happy and healthy life by saying No to Drugs'.
