Meghna On The Importance Of Writing

I think the most beautiful gift vested in each individual is the ability to pour out his or her emotions. To me, personally, writing helps me to give life to my own thoughts.

It is not easy to over-power one’s emotions. We all go through phases where we are extremely overwhelmed. We break down, scream or laugh till our stomachs ache. We live in each moment as if it were to never repeat itself again. That is why you must write. Because, the moments you are living in are yours. The phase you crossed over belongs to you. The thoughts that ran through your mind are yours and yours alone.

The only and the best possible way to have control over your emotion are by venting. And, to pen it all down in a piece of paper would be heart-warming and satisfying.

All of us are born with an ability to write. The difference between this ability lies is in that extra effort put in to improve one’s style of writing. And, that extra effort comes in only with voracious reading and writing. Start now. It’s never too late. And, after a couple of years, you would notice the drastic change you went through. True, you would loathe your first few set of works and would wish to tear it to shreds. But, don’t. It is this piece of work that will help you to move ahead and will serve as a comparison.

Do not lose the opportunity to learn or improve on your writing. Because, it is never enough. You will see yourself grow as a better person, every time you write. Create a blog and pen down your thoughts, for starters. Once you can notice your improvement and are confident enough that you can write on any topic, go ahead. Read as much as you can and always stay open to criticism. Criticism is the most important source of knowledge when you write. It will shape your skills and choice of vocabulary.

In all aspects, it’s okay if you feel that you are bad at writing. No one started high. It takes a lot of hard work, passion and love for writing to move ahead. Take baby steps and you’ll soon see what a beauty it is when your emotions and words flow through you as you write.

Writing is the key, the key that shall define your path.
