Jay: We Need The Cleanliness Of Mind And Society

It has been said that cleanliness is next to godliness, but we are so lazy to walk up to the dustbin that we have buried the importance of this proverb for ever.

Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has said that cleanliness is a step towards a bright future of India. He says, “I appeal to all of my countrymen that to maintain the dignity of our mothers and sisters and for the sake of the health of our children, our country needs to get rid of this scourge of open defecation. Let us forge ahead with a strong resolution.”

Westerners call us ' the littering Indians' and to change this impression we need to keep India clean. To clean India, first, we need the cleanliness of mind and society. I think the cleanliness of soul is a half-step towards Clean India Drive.

On this day in 2012 my friends and I had taken the initiative to clean our whole building. We call ourselves 'Cleanliness Champs'. Let’s take an oath that we will keep our mind and surroundings clean.

In 2014 our Prime Minister gave an inspirational speech and launched the clean India campaign in order to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi''s dream of clean India by 2019. But we don''t even care about it. We always blame the government to clean the city but we are only the first ones to litter our surroundings. We should change this problem.

We being the nation builders should initiate to keep our surrounding clean & tidy. One should neither litter nor let anyone else litter our environment. For a clean society in true sense, the need of the hour is to eradicate all the ill ailments breeding in our society. This can be done only by purifying our minds, hearts and souls.

DIWANSHI SHETIJA BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

I solemnly pledge to work over the cleanliness with full dedication and determination.Though I can just take few and small steps but will surely be a part of keeping nation clean.I further affirm that I shall never let anyone perform activities that are involved in obliterating the cleanliness.

Though we are getting advanced but still we cannot give up the “narrow-mindedness”. Every single person today thinks that fixing problems is not his/her job. Despite of the "Swachh Bharat Campaign", today also one can see roadside clutter. The only word that pops in our minds is ''the government and the concerned authorities''. It is not only the responsibility of the government or these concerned authorities but also the civilians.

Keeping our mind and surroundings clean is closely related to each other. When our surroundings are clean, our mind automatically becomes clean. When our mind is crystal clear, we don''t have to think of changing our society. All the illnesses of our society, such as theft, murder, kidnapping and rapes will vanish if every individual ponders over it.

Shruti Singh Ryan International School

keeping our society clean is not a work only to be done by the sweepers as if they are appointed by god for it. it''s a matter of unified whole. Indians think that we are modernized but we are wrong because we are modernized mostly in terms of USING TECHNOLOGY but our narrow mindedness remains same even after generations. so cleaning of all our shallow thinking is the need of the hour. JAI HIND.

country''s cleanliness is reflected by its citizens. It is our duty and right to keep our country clean. We should always have one goal in our life that is to keep India clean. Blaming the government is not a solution for cleanliness. we should have capabilities and potentialities to keep our country clean without depending on anyone.

If each one of us thinks that India is my home , then non of us will litter .

Brenda Marshal PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

It''s true, if our mind or our heart itself is not clean then how can we keep our society clean.... So it''s really important to keep our mind clean for the betterment or cleanliness of our own society and our surrounding areas......

I wish there was a campaign just like clean India campaign to clean our minds too.
