Apeksha Patnam: Parents Should Spend Time With Kids

Technology is an important part of our lives, but its  misuse can affect us adversely. The increasing use of smart phones has only resulted in ruining our lives. A major crisis India is facing now is drug addiction among adolescents. Drugs like cocaine, weed and LSD lead to misery and death. This is the time for children to play outside rather than use electronic gadgets. Many get involved in drink and drive cases and smuggling activities. Students get so accustomed to the bad environment around them, they are unwilling to give up these ‘friends’. Parents should learn to spend ‘time’ with their children. One must avoid such distractions to achieve excellence in life.

Rightly said, Apeksha! I Agree.

Yeah! It is only parents and teachers who can turn their path to a right one. We can''t assure that their friends are good. Parents should be calm and discuss about the incidents of their child''s life!

I believe that only parents, teachers and other elders who the child trusts can put the kid in the right direction early on in life. Decision making is a crucial part of each individual''s life and is inculcated in the minds of younger children by responsible elders, so that the impressions lay imprinted in children''s minds. Certain decisions like saying no to drugs and choosing friends who are of good company can make or break a kid''s life. Thus, parents must spend more time with kids.

as everyone knows kids are getting attracted to gadgets day by day and it is killing them as the blue whale game has killed 2 in India and around 130 in Russia and i don''t know how parents are allowing or not taking care of their children and if the parents talk they will know what there children''s are doing and can have a track on their activity

There is definitely a need for parents to spend time with their children, listen to them, answer their question no matter how silly they are. When parents are not there to answer a question the child is wanting to ask he or she looks for other sources to get the answer which might lead them to a wrong path.

I like this topic. My parents will not spend time with me.Whenever I tell my parents to teach me or ask any questions they will tell that they are busy. Most of the time I will be alone. So I agree with this.Parents should spend time with kids.

It''s the duty of parents and teachers to mold and to make a child walk on the straight path with no thorns in it. Friends are just friends who we can''t say are always good. It''s the duty of parents to spend time with thier child. Instead of running a race in this fast world spend a slow time with your child which would make the world food for him/her.

First, i don''t agree with that '' The increasing use of smart phones has only resulted in ruining our lives.'' for children who study in boarding schools..smart phones act as the main mode of communication. Second, i do agree that parents should spend time with their children in spite of their busy schedule to track their children and pull to the right track if they sense that their children are deviating from the path.
