Anirudh Says India Will Need 100 Yrs To End Child Labour

Child labour has emerged as a major social problem globally because it destroys the future of children. It is a serious issue which needs to be addressed urgently not only in India but also in other developing countries. Children are the hope and future of a nation. Yet, there are millions of deprived children in our country who have never known a normal, carefree childhood. The law in India says that any child below the age of 14 cannot be employed either in a factory, office or restaurant. But, the reality is totally different. In fact, India’s garment export has been severely affected as companies are found to be employing child labour at various stages of manufacturing, packaging and transporting. With child labour decreasing at a dismal rate of only 2.2 per cent per year, it would take more than a century to end the menace, a report said last year. Is it not shameful that children are continued to be employed in various small scalele industries and restaurants. They are used as domestic helps, shopkeeper’s assistants, employed in carpet making, bidi making, stone breaking and book binding.

To stop child labor in India, we must enlighten the people. Institutions can be set up which provide compulsory education to children from poor backgrounds, and strict awareness programs must be conducted at rural areas.

Child labour is one of the major problems in India. There is a man named Kailash Satyarthi who is a Noble peace prize winner who is known for his fight against child labour. There should be more people like him in India to stop child labour. If we people would not take any action now then this problem will reach it''s limits and it will surely take many years to overcome it.

Many laws have been passed against child labour. But, people who employ children have found loopholes in the law. Therefore, laws cannot help end child labour. There must be a change in the hearts of the employers.

Very true. But if we all join our hands together, we may eradicate in much lesser time.

The foremost step which we can take to stop child labour is to urge our maids not to indulge their children in the same work, moreover we should encourage her to get her children educated. Secondly, we can adjure the people at tea stalls and dhabbas not to hire children below 16 as waiters, cleaners etc.Though the process would take time and the people may not cooperate with us in the first go but repeated requests may turn the leaf over.

It has become quite important to put an end to child labour. Children are meant to learn not to earn!! We should get together to eradicate this situation.

All people who employ children as workers, should be made to think that every child is their own child. Then they won''t have the mindset to employ them. This can''t done within few days, but conducting awareness camps in every village of the country would bring some changes.

If Indians can raise there voice to protect dogs in our country , they can do a lot to stop child labour. If we stand united and take a pledge that we will respect each and every child''s right to education then it will take hardly five to ten years to stop this inhuman practice of child labour .

Kushal Parekh DIVINE CHILD INTL - CHANDKHEDA

Why the hell these employers are keeping children working ? They should know themselves that it is a wrong thing to keep children working for them.To stop this situation, all the people of india should understand and have merci , that childlabour is a wrong thing.

Sarath Kumar RM Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

LAWS alone cannot bring about the change in society in employing the child labours . Many awareness and demonstrations must be given to the public about the sufferings of young generations in the hands of the cruel employers. SEND CHILDREN TO CLASSES NOT TO WASH GLASSES.

Sarath Kumar RM Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Implementing strict laws on the employers of child laborers can somewhat bring a change . The main thing is that there should be change in the minds of the people. They must realise that children are born to win and not to work.

Mansi Borade PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

our can stop this child labor but no one is interested because there children is not at that place . we have time to do silly things but not for this our government should not take this lightly they make it strict and caught all the thieves how are doing this. ALL SHOULD RAISE VOICE FOR THIS CHILD LABOR.

Vishnu Varthan J Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Child Labour should be stopped. It can be stopped only by having strong government and people should not do this act.

Brenda Marshal PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

We will not take hundred years if we try to make people understand that India can progress only if the Indian kids are educated.

Brenda Marshal PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

In this way we can enlighten the people''s mind. We can even protest for the rights of children of education. Support is all we need to stop child labour..

S.G.Akshay VANI VIDYALAYA S.S.S & JR. COLG

Economic inequality is the major cause of child labour. Once India has reached economic equality that makes an end to child labour. Laws and punishment should be more efficient so that we can stop child labour. We should raise voice against child labour which is a must.
