Amish V Tripathi: All Parties Should Stand United

In response to the Uri attack, Indian army in an unprecedented response, did surgical strikes on terror launch-pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) on September 29, 2016.

In such a scenario, the entire political leadership should stand united for the country. But sadly, in India, scoring political points is far more important than showing solidarity and facing the enemy.

Contrast this with France; When Paris was attacked by terrorists, both the ruling party and the opposition came together in a show of strength. In India,  political parties are busy exploiting last month's cross-border surgical strikes for political mileage.

I also believe that until Pakistan acts strongly on terror emanating from its soil, we shouldn’t have any cultural ties with them. I also believe that Pakistani artistes —at least for now—should not be allowed to work in India as they have not condemned the attack in Uri. Pakistan has also decided  to stop the release of Indian films but is there any Pakistani who argued against this decision? No Pakistani said anything, so why should we?

Yes, you are right. It''s ok that the parties fight among themselves in other economical matters but as far as the security of the nation is concerned, all parties should unite and raise voice against terrorism nor blaming each other fro their so called ''mistakes''.

The main problem with us Indians is that we fight we each other. After Gandhi ji passed away, we have completely forgotten who we are. If we are fighting with ourselves, then what will we raise our voice against Pakistan? So we should first exercise unity among ourselves and then nothing can defeat us.

Everyone knows what to do, but the problem is that no one tries to implement these good ideas in governance of the nation , but certainly if the parties do tend to stand united India will become a bedazzling and dynamic country with leaders and mentors of varied ideas and thoughts.

Yes,all parties must be united. But always that is not a good move. Some of the United parties can cause over corruption. Corruption can cause poverty of people.

Yes, I do feel the same. This is important if we are to become a developed nation. As Trump said, "At the end of the day, we are not Republicans, we are not Democrats, we are Americans." The same should be applied in India. But a strong opposition is a must.
