Aashi Lohia: Why Do We Waste Water?

Water is precious. Three-fourth of our planet and one-fourth is land, still only 2.5 per cent is drinking water. Still, we all waste water. We should inculcate the habit of reusing and recycling water. The water we use to clean the lawn can also be used to wash utensils. This is one of the ways to recycle water. As I said the water is very precious we should not waste it.

You are right. We''ve to save water. There are people suffering without drinking water, but we people waste it. We have to know its seriousness.

I agree. We think paying lip service to the cause is good enough. But now the time has come for each and every earthling to take up his own responsibility of preserving this planet for himself and for the posterity to come.

Yes, even our government has been somewhat oblivious to droughts occuring in our country. For example, the two states of tamil nadu and karnataka are ever-fighting over the Cauvery but don''t even think about transporting the water to drought-affected areas such as rajasthan.

Water is the most important thing for our existence. We can do our daily activities like bathing, washing clothes and utensils and drinking with ease. Strict and stringent should be made for saving water. People should create awareness about the importance of water in our lives and tell them to save water.

Urvi Mandar Brahme City Pride School

I think we should not waste and think of wasting water as water is the basic need for us. Imagine if there was no water, could we have existed? We should instead recycle water.
