How To Write “Thank You” Notes

You know that warm feeling when someone made you feel special or went out of the way to help you. You feel gratitude but don’t know what to say – it’s simple – write a “thank you” note. Here’s help.

For a special gift

Write a small but touching note on how nice this gift made you feel and how it was useful too. Do mention how you enjoyed or plan to enjoy this gift. Example: “I am so thrilled to get new shades for summer. You always know what suits me best.”

For specific help

If a friend/neighbour/cousin has helped you in some way, whether it is assisting you in your school project or helping in cleaning your room, make sure you send a heartfelt thanks note. Example: “I will never forget your contribution towards making my project look great. Thanks a ton.”

For hospitality

When a family or friend open their home to you for a great dinner, an overnight stay or a week-long stay, do convey them via a note how much you appreciate their gesture. Example: “Thanks for the fabulous dinner…and great memories.”

For seniors who have helped you

It is good manners to send note of thanks to seniors or teachers who have helped you in a particular way, like for an interview, with planning for an exam, etc. Example: “Your have mentored me for the last six months. Thank you for your time and advice.”
