Prathamesh's Poem On 'Karna'

The endless pain I suffer when I hear his name,

Is much less than his lasting fame

Born of the sun with beauty and radiance,

His handsome face at the dawn clearly showed his brilliance

The Golden Armour, made out of the nectar of the gods,

Equalled his divinity with the heavenly lords

But alas! Fate,a beautiful women, cruel to him till his heroic death,

Gifted him two deadly curses

and defied him in the great war just to make everyone's eyes wet

The eldest Pandava and rightly the greatest monarch of the entire world,

Parted with his real mother from his birth

And sided with the evil against his own brothers to make their friendship unfurl

His skill and talent of archery has no sequel,

Such great was his fame in warfare...

That even Lord Indra considered him as his equal

The King of Anga, greatest friend of Duryodhan

and the greatest of all givers,

His treacherous death by his dearest brother Arjuna is enough to give you deadly shivers

If Karna is reborn today on our land,

The world will surely transform into heaven we all will sing his praises hand in hand
