Bakshish Arora's Poem 'A Better Person'

Generously the dawn broke,

Gradually brokey dormance.

Beam of smile shimmered my lips,

Another day of life stroke.

Neglecting the lazy girl, which yesterday I was.

Though at a meager speed but I walked.

Though the satchel turned heavy,

With the books packed in tight,

Marks of regression faded away,

The thought that I missed none, washed off the blight.

I giggled with a friend, I didn't talk to the day before.

Forgave the one who betrayed, however he turned a foe.

Smiled at the mentor, whom I missed to wish yesterday.

Engraved regrets flew away through regards,

With solace in my heart today.

Extracted a bit more from the lesson, Turned a sincere person today.

To work hard, I promised. Which I didn't pursue yesterday.

Loved my mother a bit more, and regarded her care today.

Gave up the frivolous attitude, which I lugged yesterday.

Wowed the god for the grace, and the beauty he showed me today.

I became a better person, Better then what I was yesterday.
