Civilization VI Announced, Key Features Revealed

2K Games and Firaxis have announced the next iteration of their Civilization video game . Dubbed Civilization vi, the game title will be releasing on October 21 this year on PC.

This time the creators have brought an art style design to the game as the building, military units and other elements are all available in bright colours. Civilization VI will also be featuring a new painting-like terrain look, something which was not there in the previous Civilization V.

In Civilization VI, cities will now be more detailed than before as they will be divided in to various districts. This will also let gamers fully use the terrain. In addition, making use of different terrains will result in more strategic planning when attacking a city. Until the Civilization V, gamers would have to build military buildings and place their troops inside one hexagonal tile.

"We want to stop players from falling into patterns," said game director Ed Beech in a statement to CNET. "We want players to build their empires differently every time." The gamers will also see the farmland, factories, and markets separated in different tiles.

Also, in Civilization VI gamers would now get the option to boost the research system. This can be done by accomplishing certain side missions. Until now, users had to wait for researching technologies through the science tree.

Beech added that the cities will now be unfolding in a different way than before. "Each time you settle your first city, start producing food, gold, culture, science, and everything vital to growth, we want it to feel different. We want you to consider your military differently. We want to encourage new approaches. We want it to feel like a new experience each time."

The creators are also actively working on other features such as units that support battalions, better multiplayer gaming and diplomacy system to learn methods used by other leaders.

In Civilization VI, gamers will start the game with Stone Age civilization leading up to the Information Age. For those playing for the first time, the game will also feature a new tutorial video to make them familiar with the gameplay.
