Science Is Fun
Students at the workshop

The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking
- Albert Einstein
A science workshop was organised at Vidya Pratishthan's New Bal Vikas Mandir, Pimpli-Baramati for classes III and IV, on September 22. Resource person Ashiwni  Malane introduced various concepts of science to the students, with the help of different examples and activities. This helped them relate scientific concepts to whatever they learn or experience in their daily life, such as light travels in a straight line, transparent and opaque objects, lateral inversion, etc.
The various experiments performed at the workshop included multiple image formation using two or more mirrors, study of image formation in the mirror, making a kaleidoscope and a periscope using cardboard cut-out, learning about the rotational force in nature, tornado formation and understand bulging of the earth using motorised model.
A variety of experiments were presented in a lively, entertaining and educational way. The aim of the workshop was to show the students that science can be fun and to help them understand how things happen.
