SBIOA Model Work Towards a Cleaner Nation

A small step to clean our area will be a giant leap for mankind.

The students and staff volunteers and the NGC and NCC students of SBIOA Model School visited Mogappair East and West, Padi Kuppam and the areas around Mogappair Eri Scheme to do a mass clean up. The streets were filled with garbage that wasn’t cleared and the students picked up all the plastic and debris that usually clog the drains, tied them in disposal covers and disposed them in dustbins. They created door to door awareness about properly disposing waste. Bleaching powder was sprinkled to avoid the spread of diseases. The students and teachers cleared the waste along the canal with the help of Corporation employees. They explained about the harmful effects of plastics and requested people to dispose plastic waste appropriately. The team also distributed pamphlets, door to door, to create awareness about dengue and how to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. The Ward 91 Councilor, Tamil Selvam and his team extended help to the volunteers in cleaning the area. The Zonal Secretary, Balasubramani and the Corporation officials examined the place and joined hands with the school team to create awareness among the public.
