Quest 2017 at St Xavier’s

Amidst downpour every now and then, Mission Quest 2017 was declared “open” on Thursday morning, July 20. The chief guest of the day was Rajkumar Makwana, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax department. The Principal Rev. Fr.Durai announced Quest as open. The event began with auspicious lighting of the lamp by our esteemed chief guest, respected fr Durai, Quest coordinator Leena Michael and student coordinator, Nityam Rajvir.
The first event held was the Quiz- So you think you know? This battle of brains took place between Hillwoods School, Mt.Carmel High School, St. Xavier’s High School, St. Xavier's School Loyola Hall, Sahjanand School of Achiever and Chaitanya School, Gandhinagar. After answering the questions in several different categories and getting points, Chaitanya School stood at the first position, followed by Hillwoods School and St. Xavier’s High School, Gandhinagar at second and third positions respectively. 
While the Quiz was held on stage, Creative events was held off stage simultaneously. Mt.Carmel High School, St.Xavier’s High School, St. Xavier's School Loyola Hall, Sahjanand School of Achiever and Chaitanya School, participated in this artistic event where Chaitanya School took the first place, St. Xavier’s School Loyola Hall stood second and Mt.Carmel High School stood third. The judge for this event was Dipali Trivedi.
Post lunch session , saw Dumb Charades- Don't fall for words, fall for action. The schools that participated in this event were the same as creative events. As the fun went on, while guessing the movies, songs and dialogues, the event was completed with St. Xavier’s as winner of the event, followed by Chaitanya School and Mt.Carmel High School at second and third positions respectively. Dumb Charades ended and so did the first day of Quest 2017- A Search for Excellence.
The fantabulous Day 2 of Xavier’s Quest 2017 started with the event of Debate between the participating schools. The judges of the debate were Dr. Pranav Joshipura and Sonal Joshi. St.Xavier’s School Loyola Hall was the winner and were followed by St. Xavier’s High School as runner-up.
Music Trivia then took the stage and the students of St.Xavier’s School Loyola hall, Chaitanya School, Mt. Carmel High School and St.Xavier’s High School, guessed and sang several of the B-town melodies. The Music Trivia ended with St.Xavier’s School Loyola hall as winners whilst Mt. Carmel School stood second and Chaitanya School stood third.
The Chief guest of the day was Bhaumik Thakar, who graced the event by his presence. He honored quest committee for doing a wonderful job of organising this mega event. He also presented the Quest committee as role models for the upcoming batches. Before the closing ceremony, the quest team had a surprise dance performance for the school and expressed their gratitude towards the school.
“The Quest team worked efficiently and the show was flawless. I totally agree with the chief guest that these students are a role model to the future graduates of St. Xavier’s high School” said Quest coordinator Leena Michael. The awards were given to the winners and runner-ups of all the events and the vote of thanks was delivered by Rutvi Shah. “Farewells are always emotional and this is really difficult because I grew up with these people and studied together for 14 years, but it is, what it is, and we have photos to cherish these golden memories” said Priyam Panchal, quest team member. All the students agreed on the fact that they could have not asked for a better farewell than this. “We surely will be connected to each other through social media but we will absolutely miss wearing Identity cards every day and sharing food from the lunch boxes” added Kush Sutaria, a quest team member.
